There are Gilligs on order but slow in coming, which is why the NABI's were purchased.

Gillig may be getting backed up in orders as well. Yikes!

I'm wondering...are they going to get enough NABIs to replace the 1995 Gillig Phantoms as well?

From a fan view it would be nice but money wise....not very.....buying a used bus then just buying its replacement in a few years.

Wonder if this delay will cause them to look at nabi or new flyer?

I noticed the sign on the heritage of the bus but Tom C wasn't sure this was accurate. Yes, the front sign has been replaced. I saw this on an in-service bus a couple of weeks ago and it looks odd compared to when the signs were full-width. The seating is exactly the same - looks like it was cleaned, but that's all.

I was wondering if the entire interior panel that covers the front was replaced, since any evidence of the stop request sign isn't there.

Tom C noted that the RTS's are completely retired now - sad to say I recall when they were brand new and it doesn't seem like that long ago.
The retirement of the RTS fleet must have been within the past couple of weeks. I was in Harrisburg two weeks ago, and I saw at least a couple of RTS buses (939 may have been one of them) still in service (though I also noticed that 931, 932, and 935 were parked in dead storage). All four of the 9500-Gilligs were running, but they were used only in peak service.

Too bad CAT doesn't (1) offer 1-day passes or (2) have bike racks on their buses.
