NewsCore - An out-of-control conductor for the PATH (Port Authority Trans-Hudson) service between New York City and New Jersey has been enforcing the network's no eating rule by grabbing astonished riders' grub right out of their hands and chucking it out the window of moving rail cars, the New York Post reported Monday.

Food-tossing conductor Michael Wilson acted out at least three times, lobbing a box of pizza, bucket of chicken and container of candy off trains.

But he may have flung his last piece of food.

Port Authority officials caught up with him earlier this month after he grabbed a box of candy that two teens were selling during the evening rush hour.

He pitched the candy out the window as the train was leaving the Journal Square Station in Jersey City, sources said.

When the two teens argued with Wilson, he put one in a headlock and the other in a choke hold, sources and officials said.

"This was the final straw. He finally put his hand on someone," said a source close to the investigation. "Shouldn't he have been reprimanded earlier?"

The agency's police department charged him with simple assault and he was suspended without pay.

Under his union's contract, he is entitled to a hearing in November on the charges, said Port Authority spokesman Ron Marsico.

That's terrible. there is a nice way to ask people to stop doing things. Using force and taking things away is not the answer.

Plus the conductor is tossing stinky or to be stinky food on the tracks and other litter.
He'll face a stiff fine for littering. He should be suspended.

I didnt think PATH had conductors since it appears to be subway style service. Usually conductors are on commuter and intercity trains as they have no gate to get into the stations. I thought it was a similar service as PATCO except going into NYC from NJ instead of Philadelphia from NJ.

PATH has conductors in the traditional subway/rapid transit sense. They don't have cabs that they can 'hide' in - the conductors' stands are within the car body, in the open, so the conductors have the ability to constantly monitor what's going on in the car they are occupying.

Wow...so if you just as much as blink, they are ready to rip your appendix open with a chainsaw...another reason to love 9/11's effects!! Now I'm afraid to ride PATH...my backpack, usually filled with food, will automatically be a "bomb scare"...SMGDMFH!
