Ok did my walk through today and 5401 has the face removed and is almost ready for the new face to be put on. 5325 has the damage cut out and is awaiting welding and filling. The best news is that 8362 is almost done all that need to be worked on is the damage to the side of the bus that hit the rail and the paint work. The new face has been installed and looks good. I have pictures of all the buses mentioned. Also the front doors has to be re-installed also but they were taken off for the face repair. The forman also said other depots are trying to lure the best body repairman we have but southern refuse to give him up that same guy is working on 8362 i will get his name when i see the forman again.

Ok i learned alot more today about these damages buses. First off for those who didnt know, 5401 was in a head on collision with a car at granite run mall on the 110. 8362 was on the 123 when the driver fell asleep and hit the guard rail the video shows the bus swirving across lanes before smashing the guard rail. Yes the mechanics and foreman seen the tape cause its they job to upload it. Also learned that NABIs 5320,23,24,25 were loaned to us by callowhill to help with the shortage we have due to the 8000s being overhauled. The mechanics even gave me the price of the repairs for these buses. *note repairs are not complete so this is how much it costed so far* 8362 so far cost septa- $18,484,64. 5401 cost so far- $15,731,63. 5325 costs so far- $5,206,78. I didnt get 5458 i will ask that tommorow if i can get the info. I also have pics of 5401, 8362 and 5325. 8362 is comming along well and looks to be done soon. 5401 still has lots to be done as well as 5325. |

8362 has been repainted and repaired i had a final pic but it was lost when i switch to a new cell phone but look for it in service cause its all finished and i didnt see it at southern tonight. 5401 need a little bit more face work and 5458 is collecting dust for the time being! 5325 is still getting heavy work done.
