Today when leaving downtown Baltimore I noticed on I83 a Bolt bus MCI D4505. I never knew they had them until today and since service is expanding with Bolt Bus I am not really surprised. However I was informed Greyhounds 2010 MCI D4505s were strictly Greyhound. So either some of them got painted and renumbered for Bolt Bus or it may be within the 2011 order. And I do know the number is 0871.

If you go by the greyhound yard in Philly, ALL the Bolt buses in there are D4505s.... even when I was at 30th street there was a D4505 out there... I was too busy foaming both times to catch em on photo but at least I'm not the only one who saw them...

Wow very interesting! I had no idea that part of the order went to Bolt. I do know that some of the older DL3s were rebuilt into Bolt Buses some time ago. Thanks for the information...

Greyhound usually gets new buses annually. And according to Go Greyhound on Youtube the entire 2010 MCI D4505 order was purchased specifically for Greyhound. So I dont think the 2010 order has any Bolt Buses. But either they changed their mind regarding the 2010s or the 2011s are starting to arrive. And if all Bolt Buses are D4505s hopefully the Prevosts are still on the fleet. Either they were repainted to Greyhound or moved to other yards. And I did somewhat suspect that Bolt Bus stored buses at the Greyhound Yards but hiring for Bolt Bus is seperate then Greyhound. And hopefully they have a Bolt Bus yard in Baltimore. I know Greyhound hires out of Baltimore so I hope Bolt Bus does since I do intend on possibly getting a job with Bolt Bus as service expands.

They did mention that the Bolt Bus fleet is new. So it could be possible for the time being they only run buses no older then 2-3 years for Bolt Bus and move them to Greyhound afterwards. But that could change depending on how many expansions Bolt Bus does. I honestly wouldnt be surprised if Bolt Bus was nationwide. But that could be a long time from now if it were to happen.

So what are the chances of them finding on any of the Greyhound and Bolt Bus Route for now?

Very high... If you go to 30th Street Station right now, you're guaranteed to see one, even if there's a Prevost there the next bus is sure to be a D4505....

but if you're not willing to go there, the Greyhound Yard near Spring Garden and Delaware has a truckload...

Then chances are that they can be seen at Bolt Bus service now.

I read on Transitalk the D4505s are replacing the DL3s. Not sure about the Prevost X3-45s. Anyway. I did read on a Youtube Comment a few months ago Bolt Bus will be hiring out of Philadelphia. So I may consider applying for a job there. Can a Bolt Bus driver afford their very own place to live in the Philadelphia area. I still havent lived on my own yet and am working a low paying job preventing that from happening. So I am wondering if I would be able to make it out with no issues or not getting a job with Bolt Bus and moving to Philadelphia.

The D4505's are 2011 model vehicles purchased by Peter Pan (they are joint partners with Greyhound in the BoltBus venture), and leased to Greyhound for BoltBus service. The 2010 models purchased by Greyhound are pooled within the 48 states service - but based primarily in the Chicagoland equipment pools. The interior of the vehicles is the Peter Pan livery (what's found in their 4505's). There are 15 of them, 0871-0885, all of which were moved to Secaucus, NJ over the past week. The first stop from the MCI acceptance center was Philadelphia, so they can be registered and fitted with Greyhound equipment and legals.

They will supplement the existing fleet of Prevosts and the older MCIs. They are being operated on EVERY route Bolt operates, starting this weekend.

In terms of operators, there is currently a wait list of hundreds waiting for an interview - if you did not apply within the last six months, unfortunately you will not be able to apply.
