I have been thinking about this for the last couple of days, and the "this" is why whenever the transit fleet numbers reaches the 8500's, they never go all the way to the end of the series[8599 or 8600]: The 1923 Peter Witts ended at 8534 The 1983 Neoplan BD's ended at 8584 [not including the one off Volvo at 8590] The 2011 NFI DE41LFR's ended at 8559 Now if SEPTA buys more 40 ft. Flyers, will they start at 8560 or 8600, or if they go with a different bus manufacturer, will they start another number series [like going back to the 3000's or start at the skipped 4000's]? |
