You may soon be seeing more sardine can Eldo's running around...I received an email from Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (parent of my employer) just now with the following:

Change In CHOP North Shuttle Service coming April 2
In an effort to enhance service and availability of buses, effective Monday, April 2, CHOP will become part of the LUCY Shuttle Service. With this transition, the CHOP North Shuttle will be discontinued. CHOP staff wishing to ride the LUCY Green or Gold loops can board the LUCY buses by showing a CHOP identification badge. This transition will allow for more hours of bus availability during the work week.

(There was an internal CHOP web address link with the new schedule. I have not included the address, as it will not work on a non-CHOP device. The "CHOP North Shuttle" was a private shuttle between 30th Street Station & the hospital, not open to the public.)

CHOP was originally part of LUCY when it began operating, but opted out after a while to run its own shuttles instead.

Not only that, but wouldn't' there be some issues with TWU 234 if SEPTA attempted to run any vehicle longer than 29 ft. (or is it 30 ft.) on Lucy/Breeze?

I have ridden 30 ft. Gillig Advantages in the suburbs of Denver and Minneapolis (in the latter case, to the Mall of America). Say what you want about Gilligs, but the 30 ft. version IMHO has a much more solid feel than our homely Eldos.
I ride them a lot in Kansas City. They have 10 2007 LF's, 23 2008 LF's (without the rear door) and 21 2011 LF's (with the silver LED destination signs) and I really love em. I like them better than our 2002-2004 40ft Gillig LF's.

And if SEPTA were to get another under 40ft bus, I PRAY TO THE GOOD LORD.... Midvale DOES NOT get any of these buses, seeing these buses on the 23 during rush hour from Broad and Oregon was another embarrassing moment in SEPTA history.

But those Gilligs would look great in SEPTA colors, but that rear door is so narrow, though!!!
