From what I can see, there is a possibility that SEPTA will retain the New Flyer D40-AKs (5401-5599) for a little while longer since SEPTA didnt order a lot of 40 foot NOVAs. I guess we can expect the assignment roster to change this fall as well to make room for the 60ft Novas. Philly is going to start looking interesting when the NOVAs get here. |

No American/Ikarus-NABI 416's were retired since November. The plan is to keep the remaining of them until possibly 2016 when all of the 40ft NOVAs are delivered. http://www.philadelphiatransitvehicles.info/Articles/614 |

SEPTA is holding onto the fleet of Eldorados and NABIs as it stands now. There is word on what is replacing the NABIS, but their replacements may not arrive until 2013 at the earliest. As far as what is replacing the Eldorados, well according to the SEPTA capital budget, they are actually slated to be overhauled or is now being overhauled. |

I can't see how much longer the ElDorado fleet will last, even with an overhaul. At some point, SEPTA has to make a decision on what will replace them. |

Got to admit, since 2007 we got lots of interesting new buses going on in the greater philly area besides New Flyer. We got Gilligs (including BRT) and Van Hool A300L. And now, Novabus is coming soon. |
