Everyone did anyone watch the news because 8270 was damaged in a head on collision with a Acura while it was on the 55. The driver was driving the wrong way & drunk she ended up killing her aunt and is fighting for her life. The front end of the hybrid is smashed and will likely need a repair job a possible trip to Southern.

"A confrontation between a passenger bus and a car and the car never stood a chance." 46,000 lbs vs. 8,000 lbs, no contest. I willing to bet that the car occupants weren't wearing seatbelts.

The Acura crashing into the bus lost as it suffered the most damage as that high rate speed after slamming into the bus. That driver was DUI as signs include open container.

Actually the driver and her aunt were not wearing their seat belts when the accident happened.

Ah that makes sense, because I was wondering why the car's occupants were in such serious condition. They couldn't have possibly been going THAT fast and from the damage of the car they should have been able to either walk away or go to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The seatbelts could've saved their lives. What a shame.

Remember the wreck this spring in State College between CATA's brand new New Flyer #6 & a Mini Cooper? The damage to both vehicles was even worse than with SEPTA's 8270 & the Acura. The difference is that both passengers in the Mini survived-and they were wearing seat belts.

So ladies and gentlemen, these are the result in the event of serious accidents if you don't wear seatbelts. PLEASE ALWAYS WEAR SEATBELTS WHEN YOU'RE DRIVING OR RIDING ON VEHICLES
