Hey neodude I just wanted to say not only the T killed neoplan but also a lack of orders from other systems and no capital money too. |

well, I also hate the fact that SEPTA played a big role in the demise of neoplan, as much as I love a NABI, a neoplan is more fun, that 400 neoplans would have really helped their company, even if it was in 1994. Did SEPTA ever test their '94 Neoplan, or get a demo atleast? I know we tested a D40LF in '94, and the old 5001 in '95. |

As far as I know they just tested that new flyer and the other bus was a nova when they tested it on the 38. |

You are correct that SEPTA only tried out a New Flyer D40LF & the original Nova LFS in the mid 1990's before the 400-bus contract order was let (which became the NABIs we know). Neoplan did bid on SEPTA's contract in 1994-95, but NABI was the low bidder. In general, Neoplan's low floor model was not nearly as successful as the AN435/AN440. I recall that Krapf's had one for a while (around the same time SEPTA's NABI's were new) & it was not a very reliable bus. |

Yesterday I checked out bostons neoplan artic trolleybuses its banging how the driver can just stay inside and push the switch for the poles to come up and down. I wish septa could do that. |

that's cause neoplans better than new flyer, in pretty much every way possible, no offense to those who love new flyers. |
