:: little Horacio hornblower is in his rural Kentucky home, flipping through the t.v. channels, trying to find something worth watching. He finally decides to stop on some old reruns of classic Thad Inc. matches, because frankly, he wasn't even old enough to know what wrestling was when they first came out. Men like Krow and Thaddius filled the t.v screen, captivating little Horacio, causing him to wonder why wrestlers like that weren't around anymore. That's when the screen went dark, and then a few seconds later flickered back on .. :: THIS IS A PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT :: after the sentence scrawled across the screen, the camera shifted around until it was focused on a man sitting on a bed. The man was disheveled, his hair matted down and his eyes glazed over. This was a man that was not the same man as the night before, or even a week before. His hair was noticably a dark shade of green, as were the sideburns that inched up the sides of his jaw. He was wearing a white t-shirt and a red pair of jogging shorts, and was obviously not prepared to say what he was about to say. :: My name is Edward James II, better known to you loyal NGPW fans as Eddie Cool. Now, I've cut at least three promos in just this past month, but none of them have meant anything until now. I .. I can't take this anymore. It's ridiculous. The NGPW roster does not respect me, and I can only assume few fans of the NGPW do either. Batista said some harsh words about me that he may have not even realized, but he is just one of the few. Batista claimed that he'll go through everyone in the lockeroom to get his hands on the NGPW World Heavyweight Championship, even if he has to go through someone like Eddie Cool .. :: a slight pause .. :: Now obviously I should take Batista's words with a grain of salt, considering the man couldn't think his way out of a wet paper bag. However, his words truly cut deep into me, and that bothers me. I am a man that usually never lets others opinions effect who I am as a person outside of the ring, but they have. I've worked my ass off to get somewhere in this promotion, and yet i'm still labled by my peers as a lower card worker; just another stepping stone on their path to greatness. If anyone remembers, I was once the NGPW Televison Champion, a title with more history than the WHC itself. I don't tend to dwell on the past, but my past achievements have gone unnoticed, even by upper-management. I'm not some punk just trying to make a name for himself .. I am Eddie Cool. Do I have to change my gimmick? No. Come this Monday at Santa's Showdown, I will attempt to prove myself as a top-contender in this company. If not, I will just prove myself this coming Glory when I single-handedly destroy Batista in front of a live NGPW crowd, because it's obviously the only way i'm going to achieve respect in this company. :: Eddie stands up and walks over to the camera, mumbling a few words and flipping the swith to off. :: |
