Previously on Deadliest Warrior... Scene opens up backstage the air is filled with a lot of anger and angst, wrestlers getting ready for the upcoming matches and others who have finished their matches, making their way back to their locker rooms and some leaving. A camera focus's on Norns who is pacing around backstage after his brutal beatdown at the hands of Ryan Abendroth, yet again. This marks 2 weeks in a row he has lost to The Roman, he is pacing around in a circle looks to be talking to himself. After a few moments he takes off and starts walking down the hallway, the camera follows him hoping to catch something good on film. As the camera keeps pace with Norns walking through the halls backstage, the Viking Warrior comes up to a locker room, the room of the man he just lost to, Ryan Abendroth. Norns knocks on the door a few times, and waits patiently, no one answers at first so Norns bangs on the door harder. A man's voice can be heard inside "Give my just a second" then the door swings open. Norns backs up and centers himself in a fighting pose as if he is expecting this to break out into an all out battle. The camera swings to the left to see that Ryan too is posed ready to fight, but before anything happens Norns lowers his hands and holds 1 out toward Ryan as if to calm him down and ensure he isnt here to fight. Norns: "Ryan, I didn't come here to start anything, just listen to what I have to say. The last few weeks we have had our differences and have met in that ring, and each time we have met in the ring it is you that has come out victorious in our battles. This is something that I am not used to, I am used to being the victorious one. The battled hardened Viking Warrior that I have been come to be known as, yet, these last 2 weeks you have found a way to defeat me. Tonight, was an eye opening experience for me Ryan. I have never been beaten with such ease as you have displayed tonight, I have no excuse for this. It is in this defeat, that I humbly extend my hand out, and am honored to have foughten you, for you have proved that you are a warrior, in your own right, Ryan Abendroth." Norns extends his hand out and waits for Ryans response. But of course, there was always that hint of distrust. That feeling of unease, the instinct, the temptation to just take the first strike. The battle-readiness and brawling, Spartan half of him battled it out with the calculating, deceptive Roman. But... it was Norns that first lowered his guard. That had to be taken into account as well. Each word Norns said was taken in slowly. Every single word was analysed carefully. There was truth in Norn's words. This wasn't a ruse or a fake face that he had plastered, at least, as far as he could see. Although Ryan felt as though he would regret the notion, he lowered his guard as well. He was not stupid, however, he remained out of striking distance. Ryan Abendroth: "I had taken the initial strike, and you retaliated. With the battles we've had in the ring, and out of the ring, we have undoubtedly have yet to reach a conclusion. Through blood, through weapons, through bodyslams, and through excruciating submissions, we have fought. To this point, I have won two battles, but wars have taken a turning point in a single fight. We have not settled this, Viking. You have taken respect towards me, and you extend it humbly and as an equal. I refuse to accept this. I repeat, we have not settled this. How many days have we taken to heal the scars, how can a war of this scale be finalized in such a meagre way. No." Ryan casts his gaze downwards, as if to think of the repercussions to come from his next move. His emotions were reaching a high, not in rage or anger, but in the battle drive. He closed the distance and dropped down Norns arm. He raised his head, having to tilt his head upwards due to the heigh difference between the two. The two stood perfectly still, and Ryan's brow furrowed. Ryan Abendroth: "One more. We finish this. One. More." Norns feeling disrespected by the audatious actions of the Roman at his refusal to shake his hand, though that was the plan, backs up and paces around a bit. His mind becoming filled with the actions over the past few weeks bestowed upon him from this man, the anger begins to take over, and he is about to lose control of all inhabilities to control his own actions. He speaks to Norns about wars and battles as if he knows not. Norns stops pacing and walks up and gets into the face of Ryan Abendroth. Norns: "What you fail to see in all of this, was that I knew you weren't gonna accept my gesture of respect in my extension of my hand out to you. That little ego of your's have taken over your foresight, and blinded you to that fact, that though you may have gotten the upper hand, it will be my hand that strikes last. An equal? I am better then you!! Plans have come to flourishen, as my supposed "misfortune in losses" and the building up that little ego of yours, has brought about just what I wanted. 3 days before the Royal Rumble, take on the weakest link in the rankings poll, so that I am assured a chance to get my hands on Pedro Sanchez, yet again. Sometimes in battle, you have to take the loss, to gain the greater victory. This week on Demolition will be that greater victory, as I roll into Royal Rumble set to take on the Custom Champ and once again regain my position atop that ladder, then I can set my sights on bigger goals." The friction and tension in the room set off sparks. If glares were as sharp as they looked, both wrestlers would have killed each other long ago. Norns took the initiative to break the stand-off by walking off on his own. Abendroth had little time to come up with a snappy remark. He could have yelled off into the distance, but that would only achieve a petty victory. He would allow Norns to have this psychological victory for now. They would settle everything in their final match-up on Demolition. Everything. Ryan Abendroth sits himself down on his bench and continues to go about his business, saying to himself: Ryan Abendroth: "Victoria ut Rome, filiolus es per Romanorum." ... |
