7/17/11 John Morrison was stripped of his title due to backstage purposes. A tournament will be held tonight. Tournament Opener 1: Dolph Ziggler D. Chavo Guerrero-4:28 Back and forth match, Chavo misses the Frog Splash and Ziggler hits the Zig Zag for the win. Tournament Opener 2: Shelton Benjamin D. Mike Knox- 6:04 Knox hit the bicycle kick 2 times, but failed to actually attempt a pin on Shelton. The match proceeds until Shelton counters a powerbomb and superkicks him. Tournament Opener 3: Yoshi Tatsu D. Tyson Kidd- 3:54 Once again, another back and forth match. Tyson and Yoshi both connect with their signatures, but Yoshi capitalizes first and hits his finisher. Tournament Opener 4: DH Smith D. Drew McIntyre- 4:47 Smith was on the offense the whole match, Drew may have landed a few suplexes and punches, but David finally hits him with a suplex, then makes him tap with the sharpshooter. Tournament QF 1: Dolph Ziggler D. Shelton Benjamin-8:12 Shelton superkicked Dolph 2-3 times through the time span of this match, but like Mike Knox, failed to attempt a pin. Shelton goes for another superkick, Dolph dodges, and hits the Zig Zag. Tournament QF 2: DH Smith D. Yoshi Tatsu-6:05 Yoshi did quite a bit of high flying moves while David countered most of them. David goes for a sharpshooter, but Yoshi surprisingly gets out of it. About 2 minutes later, David hits a running powerslam for the pin. Tournament Final: Falls Count Anywhere-Dolph Ziggler D. DH Smith-12:00 Dolph and David have pretty compatible AI throughout this whole match when Dolph finally gets a weapons about 7 minutes in. Dolph puts the chair on David's neck a few times, but misses on all 3 attempts. Both of them are bleeding profusely by the end of the match, but Dolph takes the steel steps, slides them in the ring, and hits David with a powerslam directly onto the steps. Dolph picks David up, locks the sleeperhold in, causing David to finally tap. New United Nations Champion: Dolph Ziggler The general manager of Smashmouth, Justin Sane, comes out to congratulate Dolph. Sane then drops the bombshell that Dolph has been traded to Brawl. The crowd is dead for the remainder of the air time. |

CRUISERWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP TOURNAMENT Tournament Opener 1: Cody Rhodes D. Yoshi Tatsu-5:12 Cody got a fin x3 and hit the Cross Rhodes. Tournament Opener 2: John Morrison D. Tyson Kidd-3:22 Morrison countered almost all of Tyson's punches and grapples throughout the match, then hit the Nitro Blast. (Yes, I gave him his old finisher.) Tournament Opener 3: Kofi Kingston D. Chavo Guerrero-7:10 I don't know how this match went so long, but Chavo and Kofi both hit signatures at the end, but Kofi was quicker to his feet and hit the S.O.S. Tournament Semi Finals-Triple Threat: John Morrison & Cody Rhodes D. Kofi Kingston-2:20 Morrison's and Cody's AI seemed to not fight each other very much, but they were wrecking Kofi throughout the match until Cody hit the Cross Rhodes. Tournament Finals: Cody Rhodes D. John Morrison-5:37 (I did it like this for some weird reason, don't ask) Morrison tried the Nitro Blast countless times, but Cody kept dodging them and countering with clotheslines and dropkicks. Cody finally got a chance and hit the Silver Spoon DDT. New Cruiserweight champion: Cody Rhodes Justin Sane comes out after the tournament has ended once again to congratulate Cody on his newly won belt. Sane grabs a mic, but Cody realizes what Justin might say, then hits him with the Cross Rhodes. |

1: Shelton Benjamin D. Tyson Kidd & Matt Hardy This Match was pretty even through out with a lot of top rope stuff going on. At one point, Matt Hardy, went for a chair and rapped it around the leg of Tyson Kidd, but Kidd got out of it. At the end of the match, Matt Hardy hit the side effect on Tyson Kidd and got back up to his feet, then hit the Twist of Fate on Shelton on the chair and got himself DQ'd. 2: Ezekiel Jackson D. MVP - Hardkore Rules Match This Match was a squash. Jackson was all over him from the start with a lot of power slams and side walk slams. Jackson went and grabbed a table and set it up in the ring, MVP comes running at him, but Jackson picks him up and slams him through the table with the book of Ezekiel, thus pinning him for the three count. 3: Ted DiBiase D. JTG This match was actually pretty close. there were a few near falls on both sides and JTG just about had him with a roll up, but in the end, DiBiase hit Dream Street and got the three count. 4: Smoking With Swag D. Perfect Future Great back and forth match. Ziggler got an early sleeper hold on RVD before Swagger broke it up. There was a mix of tags back and forth before RVD finally hitting the Five Star Frog Splash on McIntyre to win the match for Smoking With Swag. 5: Chris Jericho D. Randy Orton (non title) Match of the night. Both men came out real strong with dropkicks and back body drops. Nearing the end of the match, Orton hit the RKO and went for the pin, but at the last second, Jericho got his feet on the rope. Orton got up and brought Jericho with him and out of nowhere, Jericho hit the Code Breaker and went for the cover; Orton kicked out at 2.9. Jericho got up complaining to the ref and Orton got up to his feet and turned Jericho around, going for another RKO, but Jericho blocked it, sending Orton to the mat where Jericho locked in the Walls of Jericho, causing Orton to tap out. After the match the general manager ,Justin Sane, came out to congratulate Jericho on his impressive win, then names him the new number one contender for the Smashmouth world title and also naming Ted DiBiase the new number one contender for the UN title before shaking Jericho's hand as the show fades out. |
