Before casting on Main Event Network 1. Test your stream in your own channel to make sure your quality, bitrate and settings are good. 2. Change the topic/status of the channel BEFORE you go live, that way the Twitter and Facebook will report the right broadcast once you broadcast. 3. If you plan on casting a casual cast, make sure to make it worthwhile. Do not cast if you only plan on casting for 5-10 minutes. You may also post an announcement about your cast here in the forums in the "Anything Else" section. 4. Do not play any games that depict any nudity or racism or anything else that might cross the TOS for the Justin/Twitch website. We do not want the channel banned. 5. If you bring people on your cast with you, make sure they know the rules about what to say and what not to say. When it comes down to it, YOU are responsible for the people you bring onto your broadcast to talk while it is live. 6. Please do not broadcast if there is supposed to be a scheduled show taking place at that time. The only exception to this is if the scheduled caster requests someone fill in some time while they get ready. Otherwise, no exceptions! 7. Do not permanently ban anybody in the Main Event Network channel. You may give them a time out if they honestly deserved it, but please just try to ignore or block the problem first of all unless the person is a blatant one-time viewer troll. 8. Please do not promote anyone who is NOT affiliated or partnered with Main Event Network. We are our own community with a ton of great friends and support. Try to focus on getting them some viewers and appreciation rather than someone who doesn't even know who we are or someone who is no longer with the community. 9. In between major marathons, your casting code may be deleted to help against accidental castings on the Main Event Network channel. Before the next marathon, you'll get your codes sent back to you again so you are good to go. The reason for implementing these guidelines is to ensure that casters do not spam the Twitter or Facebook accounts with repeated broadcasts that are unnecessary and unprofessional. How to broadcast on the channel using Xsplit This is for when/if you get honors to broadcast on the RCWF channel. Only a select few will be allowed to do this, and they will need to be active broadcasters to be given the opportunity to ensure our channel is as active and streaming as possible. #1: Go to Broadcast -> Edit Channels #2: Click "Add" then "Custom RTMP" #3: In the name section, input "MEN" #4: Under RTMP URL, put: rtmp://live.justin.tv/app #5: Under stream name, input the code key emailed to you by me You should be good to go. Make sure to input everything exactly as listed by this FAQ and it should work for Xsplit. TIP: Make sure everytime you turn your Xsplit on and begin casting (using Dazzle DVC) that the Force Deinterlace option is CHECKED in the Configure section. If you do not do this, you will see lines in your broadcast. |

Added information about broadcasting at Main Event Network A few more things to check out before pressing that GREEN button to broadcast! 1. Make sure the channel status/title are set BEFORE you go live! 1A: If it is a regular weekly show, I have setup the organized format like this: 01-04-12 | Duke & Grem Reviews 01-04-12 | TCW Primetime Pain Those are examples, but I want all of the titles to look the same, except for the date obviously so they all match up and look organized, so please try to get that situated before you go live. It saves me the trouble of having to go back and do that. 2. Make sure the GAME is set correctly. I have given publisher/editor priveledges to quite a few people who can get in there and change the actual game being played. If it's D&G Reviews, you can just standard it out to WWE '12. For everything else, make sure the game is set too, as that is a very important search feature on Twitch.tv! 3. To reiterate a standard above, please make sure before you go live that your casting is good to go. I can't stress enough how crappy it is for me to dig into the archives and have to delete out 4 minute or less clips because people's casts drop or whatever. If you need to keep restarting your cast because of technical difficulties, you might want to take the advice listed above and cast on your own channel to make sure things are golden first. 4. I don't mind you putting logos and decorations on your cast, just make sure it looks organized and pretty. Since we are now being featured on www.paybackgames.com everybody who casts needs to make sure their casts look good and are professional from beginning to end. 5. Make sure your Xsplit screen captures and games are loaded up and ready to go BEFORE you cast! PLEASE do not start the cast, then start fidgeting with opening the game and screen capping it. You should have all of that ALREADY SET before going live. If you need to cast beforehand, I once again direct you to casting on your own channel before going live at the MEN channel. When screen capping an emulated game or PC game, you SHOULDN'T have the PC menu bars showing up on your cast! There is a way to screen crop it out using Xsplit with the screen region. If you do not know how to do this, ask me or someone else around MEN and we will help you figure it out! I don't want to seem like a stickler, but since we are getting the attention of other internet gaming websites out there, we need to make sure the content looks good and is on a professional level. |
