As the announcement echoes through the Painkiller Arena that, due to rising support and rosters, Demolition would be coming back, everyone had been talking about the draft and its implications. Who would be running the shows? Where will the title's go? How many teams will find themselves broken up? Lingering questions permeated every conversation between roster members, fans, and even the commentary staff. All this combined with the looming threat of Nowhere to Hide makes the talks even louder. No one knew if the NTH winner could switch brands if he or she so chooses. The night only gets weirder, at least from the commentators, but the show has been put on mute by one person. A person that wasn't even in the arena, but in an old but familiar environment. One that some of the newest roster members may have never fought in, but one that Giul Thunderstrike remembered well. Giul was training inside the Night of the Immortals X arena with his confidante, Jennifer Jet. He had been working out ever since the RCWF medics cleared him after being thrown through a car window by the now-defeated Outlaw. Giul wanted to make sure the next time he got in the ring, he would be in peak performance. He had been training to make his return in the Nowhere to Hide match, and was definitely looking to make a successful comeback. He goes back to his training using simulaids of different weights and sizes. All of them have been painted and costumed up to resemble the top picks of the RCWF Community, including past winners Eddie Cool and Justin Rom as well as Current Champs Domino and Norns. Giul's friend Jennifer gets a timer out and he hurries to toss out the fakes of to the outside in the quickest time possible. As he trains, a lone figure with a microphone comes out from the back. His low moan only stops Giul for a moment until he throws the Cool stand-in out last. OOOOOOH YEEEEEEES! I noticed someone was here, in this ring. A ring that represents so many broken dreams and dead bodies all around! It so reminds me of my funeral parlor... I must get an interview on why you're here, I must! Giul gets out of the ring as Paul Bearer, former interviewer approaches to give the strange man the interview that he wants. Jennifer goes around and puts the simulaids back into the ring so that after the interview Giul can get right back to training. You've been gone a long time Giul, oh yes. Ever since I saw the shadow people return to the crypt and the lovely coffins I have made for them. I was beginning to think I had to make one for you...it would have been just perfect. You seem to be in a lot of loss, why train here in the dimly lit part of the paaasst? Paul, I have been off the radio and off the radar for a long time. This is by design. The most shocking of surprises come when you are sure you've figured everything out. I got that when I faced Crusher way back at Oblivion and lost. I also got another one when I thought I figured out the whole Shadow conspiracy and got sent to the barracks for my trouble. You can never truly guess the future, but you can always get knowledge from the past. That is why I'm here, to learn and grow stronger. This is where I got my first big victory, Night of the Immortals X, when I pinned Jacob Schooley in the middle of that ring. A match that has seen only 2 survivors, Tyrant and myself, leaving a lot of bodies. NOTI left a ton of bodies that we'll never see again, but that's not what I learned oooooh, so many bodies, it makes me tingle all over. But what have you learned, or dear pilot of miiiine? One, that you're really creepy, but most importantly, that factor that allows me to continue fighting no matter the cost to myself. I learned what got me that victory at NOTI, what caused me to be a force on NextGen, What allowed me to overcome Josh D and Evan Bourne. It's the same desire that keeps me chasing the highest titles I can. It's a passion and THRILL to go faster, higher, better than I have been. It's desire, something I can't say I've had in a while, maybe since Oblivion. What I'm doing now is honing it, perfecting it, tuning it up to Air Force standards, just in time for the biggest dogfight of the year. Fifty-nine bogeys all have a shot to Main Event Night of the Immortals, but there will be and always have been only 1 Ace. I'll be locked, loaded, and on target when I get my number called whether it's 2 or 52. Giul takes off his flight goggles and cleans them off before putting them back on and over his eyes. There's no where to fly, no clouds for cover, and definitely Nowhere to Hide. I'm going to earn a medal greater than the distinguished Flying Cross. I'm going to Win and I'm going to get the World Heavyweight Title at Night of the Immortals, no matter what the draft says, no matter what show I'm on, and no matter who I have to shoot down in the process Giul then rolls back in the ring and begins chucking more fake superstars back out as Jennifer and Paul looks on as the scene cuts away and back to the Painkiller Arena where Eli was coincidentally just about to call out Tyrant. |
