Demolition was roaring back to life after being off the air for 5 months, and the locker room was ready to make an impact. One of the return matches was a 6-man number 1 contendership match for Eli Eastwood's TV Title. The crowd is fired up by the on TV return of Giul Thunderstrike, back from injury after Outlaw slammed his head through a car window. However it seemed that Giul wasn't at 100% as he would end up being the first eliminated after Dmitri Kalashnikov, who had also been making his return to action, hit him with a suplex pin. Later while Martin Starr was celebrating his debut Victory, the camera cuts back to the lockerrooms. Giul was holding an ice pack against his head and drinking some water when unexpectedly an interviewer comes up from behind him with a microphone. Giul, you've not been seen in a long time. Not since the shadow people were running the show. But you didn't have a successful return in the end. Now that you've returned to competition, do you have any future goals or plans on Demolition? Giul puts down the ice bag and water bottle down on the table next to him and stretches his neck before answering. It's been a long time, indeed. As for my goals, the first thing I'd like to do is thank Crusher and the rest of the at-the-time champions for destroying the Shadow People at Brutal Reunion. When I was injured, I got myself a tune up. You all got a glimpse of that in the Nowhere to Hide match, I came in at 31 and had one of the longest runs in this year. I can tell you that was a major accomplishment for me. However, getting smashed through a table by Thaddeus, Showtime rearranging my face with a ladder, and eventually being Wastlelanded onto the floor didn't really help my recovery all that well. Tonight I wasn't at full strength, but I still wanted to give the fans that burst of energy when I compete. Now onto the future. The FLying Ace has got a few things on his mind, but all roads end with that IC title. The Crusher may get strong as a polar bear, but he can't crush the American Spirit inside me and the RCWF fans. Excuse me, Giul. Not to sound rude, but you've already had 2 shots at the Intercontinental Championship and it's almost certain that Big D will be getting that shot. That's fine for now. Big D is a good man, ever since season 1 of Nextgen and he's a fellow hero to all. As for me, I've realized that I've got to refocus on making my way back up. It's a long path for sure, but starting at the bottom is the best way to prepare you for the top. I plan to be there for Night of the Immortals challenging one last time for that belt. For me to do that, I'm going to have to embrace bringing America intercontinental. It all starts in Ukraine! Dmitri Kalashnikov is right in front of me, and tonight he got the first shot off in that last match when he pinned me. Dmitri, no disrespect, but you're in my flightpath and I have no reservations on taking your crazy radiated ways and pushing through to the next level. You may have also been gone, but I've kept a few tabs on you. You've got a brand new look as well, proudly supporting his own home country of Ukraine. Nothing's more satisfying that loving your country, and you're looking at America's #1 fan. So why don't you come over and we have ourselves a new cold war. USA vs Ukraine. Your technical prowess vs. My speed. Tonight, you had the benefit of four other men and a weakened Giul. I'm calling you out for a one on one duel on your terms. Let's see if the Ukrainian spirit can match the American Spirit. Giul takes his ice bag and water bottle and waves the interviewer away as he heads to his lockerroom as the next match gets underway. |
