It, unlike most other times, wasn't meant to be flashy or theatrical. John just sat with his back against the wall, looking down at the floor and his hands in front of him, conflicted with his own thoughts. The man who had run him down in mid-January was revealed as Brian Hunt, a man personally picked by Kaos as his rookie for the first season of NextGen. He even led the man to make it to the finale of the competition, but did not win. The influence of Kaos on Hunt continued, though, in an attempt to lead a trio in rebellion with fellow NextGen rookies Sean Libby and Extreme Fox. No matter what Hunt did, he was still labeled as Kaos' former protege. It was that shadow. It was that one night, the Dance Competition, where everything changed with John refused to participate and elected to brutally beat his own rookie in the center of the ring without mercy. And the receipt came. The car ran John Kaos down. The man isn't 100% even now. That was proven in the backlot brawl last week. So, he sat there. Looking down at his hands. The hands of a man who's had over ten years in this career and has done very bad things to people with those hands. All he could do is crack a little smile. John smiled as he remember why this is taking place. "I am very proud of you, Brian. "But my proudest moment of your career may very well be the last one you experience in this business, period. "Neither the gods or anonymous ghosts can help you now, either." And that was it. A sigh later, and Kaos pushed off the walk to stand. Dusting off the front and back of his jeans, John then walked quietly down the hall away from the camera's view without even a laugh or a word. He knew what was coming at Bloodshed: A wrestling match. He was in no condition to win a fight and that was proven. But a wrestling match? John always had an advantage there. Always. |
