However, I had high hopes for the other two New Balance 576 Pas Cher shoes in the adipure line: the adidas adipure Gazelle in particular looked like my kind of shoe. Last week adidas sent me a pair of the Gazelles to try out(disclosure: these were free samples for review purposes), and my overall experience so far has been phenomenal.

9. They look like almost like a 3-way cross between a dress shoe, sneaker, and aqua sock. Different, but not nearly as conspicuous as Vibrams (about which I was stopped and questioned 2-3 times at the mall the other day, including by the entire staff at Finish Line). If you swap the red laces with some brown ones, you could probably get away with wearing these as a casual work shoe (guess that depends somewhat on where you work!).

The smooth ride that the shoe provides is likely a combination of the full contact outsole and the geometry of the forefoot. ThereĄ¯s almost a slight rocker sensation unde New Balance 574 Femme Pas Cher r the toe. I think the contour is necessary since the Fresh Foam isnĄ¯t very flexible ¨C it still allows for a smooth transition.

The upper of the Fresh Foam is composed of a breathable mesh, and it has plush cushioning around the ankle collar and tongue. There is a plastic heel counter. Nothing really fancy about the upper. Seems durable and well made.

If I had to compare the adidas Gazelle to another shoe, the closest I could come up with is the Saucony Hattori LC. Both are crazy comfortable shoes with a stretch upper, and both feel great on the run. If it werenĄ¯t for the hot spots I get in the HattoriĄ¯s under the balls behind my big toes IĄ¯d have a really tough time recommending one over the other, but given that issue for me the Gazelles are the more versatile shoe. Both are fantastic for walk around use and short runs, but I can do ten miles in the Gazelles (including speed work) with no problems and that tips the scales.

As I was rocking my 6-week old son to sleep earlier tonight, I was thumbing through an Eastbay catalog, and happened to notice that they were advertising a shoe called the Nike Sneakerboat II. Nike has apparently released a sequel to the original Sneakerboat, and it is now availabl New Balance 574 Homme Pas Cher e through several on-line retailers (see links below). I have no idea how this shoe might perform as a minimalist running shoe, but I was tempted enough by its apparently flat, minimally cushioned sole (see picture above), itĄ¯s reasonably attractive design (it even has a flywire-like pattern similar to Nike running shoes), and its low price ($40-45.00 depending on the store) that I ordered a pair to try out. The shoe is also apparently environmentally friendly (which is a big plus in my book), being made out of recycled materials a New Balance 574 Sonic Pas Cher s indicated in the following description from the Eastbay product page:
