After all.....

I had the same question. I have at least two actor/character nominations that fit this situation and I was just going to submit them like that - without a specific film title. I figure Russ could sort out the details (betting he's sorry he even started this :) ) |

If you nominate a character who has appeared in multiple films, such as Chaplin's Little Tramp, just pick your favorite of his films and include a '+' to indicate that the character's appearance spans multiple films. For example: The Little Tramp - Charlie Chaplin (City Lights +) |

Making good progress with my list. Whittling down is going to be a bitch, tho. While I don't expect thses guys to make it, not many films can boast two characters as memorable as these: Posted Image |

Well, I've got a list of 15 solid. Now the hard part: selecting 5 more from a list of 47 remaining candidates... Pretty sure this guy is in (if Criterion would hurry up and release it, could drum up some support): [dohtml]<iframe width="420" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/PwdGuwv7BfM" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>[/dohtml] |

This has been a lot of fun so far…I'm letting characters sort of naturally come to mind, before I actually look through any of my library or ratings, where I'm sure to be overwhelmed. Can South America be a character? Posted Image |

Had a stab at this but just couldn't do it. I tried to nominate every screen iteration of The Joker, the entire cast of FARGO, and Fred Astaire, under the assumption that he's essentially the same character in every film. :) I guess not all of those would cut the mustard, but even if they did I was struggling. |

Here's one I predict will get zero mentions: I. Y. Yunioshi - Mickey Rooney (Breakfast at Tiffany's) |

That was Mickey Rooney! I thought for sure it was Toshiro Mifune. ----but seriously, I'll stick with John Wayne as Genghis Khan |

I am extending the deadline for the submission of 20 favorite characters from August 3 to August 10, so as to not conflict with vorn's poll. I hope we get a few contributors! Posted Image |

There goes three of *my* slots! Damn. I have my copy of "As You Wish: Inconceivable Tales from the Making of The Princess Bride" sitting right here waiting to get read! Mr. Jiggy despises this movie. |
