Yes, I love this about Edgar Wright's work. This video is a nice layout of what he does. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3FOzD4Sfgag [dohtml]<iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/3FOzD4Sfgag" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>[/dohtml] |

Michael Clayton is one that really snuck up on me. Expected it to be standard mediocre Oscar-bait, and then was surprised to find it a terrific film, period. Haven't seen it again since that first viewing, so not sure how it holds up. |

Surprised Clayton was that high. I really liked it, again probably underrated it. |

Sorry, I'm the curmudgeon this time around. :D I am forever grateful for Michael Clayton because Tilda Swinton won her Oscar, but I found it to be a mediocre film that reminded me of some of those procedurals I watch when I can't sleep. Diving Bell was a masterpiece. YMMV. IMHO. Or maybe as my husband said, I'm just a hater. :) I've told y'all my feelings about George Clooney before. :) |

Guy, Jiggy & Cassius each had the top 3 films in their own top 3, but each had it in a different order. |

Prediction: My No. 1 will be the No. 3; my No. 2 will be No.1; and my No. 3 will be the No. 2. On a different day, I would have probably ordered them all differently - all are very close calls for me. Two straight polls where I am the sheep, which feels odd. Having been both sheep and goat, I think I prefer being a sheep. For a different thread and because I rarely have time to come around here anymore: True Detective stinks, for all of the excellent reasons identified in the TD thread. My only possible contribution to that thread is that I find it funny that Colin Farrell is worried that the red-headed kid might have been fathered by the Mexican guy (and that this is the lynch pin for everything). Stupid Irishman. |

^^^ the above spoilers are a public service. Just reinforces that I made the right decision saying goodbye to that crapfest. My fondest George Clooney moment is when South Park made fun of his Oscar speech, and coincidentally enough, I am going to use that speech in a podcast. |
