I imagine he'll be a popular pick on the ranked lists, but who knows?

I mean, no Darth Vader. No Hannibal Lecter. Oops! Spoiler alert!

And I have to admit, narrowing the nomination list down to 20 was one of the hardest things I've ever had to do.

I think my final cut was Pontius Pilate. You know, the Michael Palin one.

"And throw him to the ground?"
"Oh yes! Thwow him to the gwound!

Look at all those WC Fields fans.

By the way, my vote for Speedy was also for The Freshman. I believe they are technically different characters, as is his Boy character. If I had to choose one film, I would choose The Freshman.

Aaron, the list you sent me only has Speedy, which I'll keep as the nominee, although I did add a reference to The Freshman.

There are a few picks in your list where you only named a character and the actor who played him, without naming a film (in appearances that span multiple films). Feel free to pm me clarification and otherwise, I'll do the best I can.

I cannot believe that I forgot Hans Landa!!!

By the way, Conty, Barfly was one of my more obscure Jeopardy answers. I have never seen the movie! :o

I only saw it in the past couple of months (for the 1987 list)…I found the character to be unique and infectious (much like a Frances of Frances Ha, where the character is essentially the film), and the film/performance has stuck with me, even if it's only been a short time. I'm also a long time Bukowski fan.

Sounds like Landa may get a few votes on the final poll :)

That's what I get for being lazy and rushed.
Karim will vouch that I just browsed my shelves while holding my laptop. So I'll just keep my mouth shut. ;)
