Name drop alert! I met/worked with Parminder on an ABC pilot this past March…it didn't get picked up. Not her fault, of course. Was probably mine. |

Can't believe I didn't think of Max Cherry, especially since I just revisited the film a couple of months back. He's got a good shot at making my final ballot. |

Yay! He's an all timer for me…as soon as Russ came up with this idea, Max Cherry (among a few others) immediately sprang to mind. Max Cherry, Max Fischer, JJ Hunsecker…I feel like me and Mr. Jiggy are becoming best friends. Russ, going back to Dolemite, I almost put Petey Wheatstraw on my list…I have you to thank for that! |

Even though it's been more time-and-labor-intensive than I had originally imagined, it's been a blast putting the nominees thread together. Lots of films I want to see and/or see again. Going through this thread is like a constant reminder of why we love cinema as much as we do (as if we needed any reminding). |

Peachey! Great choice, Dirt. I'm about to teach that story for the umpteenth time. Never gets old. Edit: If there's one movie that needs a Criterion release, it's The Man Who Would Be King. Get on that, Aaron. Conty, that's cool about you meeting Parminder. |

I'll tell my super secret contact, but it won't do any good. They release what they want to release. My contact didn't even know Apu was coming in November, but I did. |
