I am still curious about what image vorn chose for The Fifth Element.

I am still curious about what image vorn chose for The Fifth Element.

It shows up on my screen, is that not the case for everyone else?

My last cuts: The Spanish Prisoner, Men with Guns, Live Flesh, Cure, Good Will Hunting

Surprised I was an orphan on the Waco doc, which is excellent and thought-provoking. Also surprised by the lack of support for Wong Kar Wei's Happy Together.

Pleased not to be an orphan with The Butcher Boy and Mother and Son.

I ranked The Fifth Element #116 out of the 121 films from 1997 I've seen.

The only reason The Bloody Olive wasn't on my list is because I've made a concerted effort this cycle to only include features (or at the least, shorts that are about 25 minutes or longer).

I now regret not including Olive.

Dirt and I are the only votes in the database??

It's only 10 minutes long, but if you're any kind of a noir fan, you owe it to yourself...

I was able to see it when I did a "Copy Image URL" and pasted it in to my browser, but before that I got one of those error boxes about no hotlinking from their site.

Surprised I was an orphan on the Waco doc, which is excellent and thought-provoking. Also surprised by the lack of support for Wong Kar Wei's Happy Together.

My other last cuts:

Donnie Brasco, Wag the Dog, Mrs. Brown, Lost Highway, Grosse Point Blank

I have a feeling that when I revisit Lost Highway, I'll appreciate it more.

Waco was one of my very last cut. Agreed that it's an incredible doc. I'll admit that part of the reason it got cut was because I didn't expect much support here.

I'm not surprised by Happy Together. Not a fan. This may belong in the heresy thread, but I'm beginning to think that Wai was a 2-hit wonder. But those were BIG hits. There are still a couple early ones I haven't seen.

Among my last cuts were Eve's Bayou, The Butcher Boy, Character, Insomnia, Grosse Point Blank, As Good as It Gets, The Devil's Advocate and Four Little Girls. In a couple of cases, sketchy memory did them in; for others there was just no room.

I love Grosse Point Blank, it's certainly on my long list of favorite/rewatchable films…in fact, nerd alert, my Call of Duty handle is Grocer, named after my current avatar. Popcorn!

The Game really worked with a repeat viewing.

Titanic, not so much.

The Game is one I should see again…haven't since '97.

Even in hazy memory, I don't know how they could have known what side of the building he was gonna jump off of!

I find that this is one of those logic problems that tends to not matter the more you revisit. The film's strength is its atmosphere of paranoia, not so much the plot.
