Home of the Weiners. Envy of all.
|
Set against a backdrop of plotting, conspiracy and international tensions, a young hero, haunted by the oppressive legacy of his terrifying father, struggles with making decisions that will shape his destiny. Increasingly disgusted by the shifting moral order and isolated because of his unpredictable behavior, the hero’s grasp of what is real and what is illusion unravels as fate propels him toward a final confrontation with his new father figure. Hitman Hart: Wrestling with Shadows (or, Hamlet in Hot-Pink Tights) is available for free streaming at the National Film Board website: http://www.nfb.ca/film/hitman_hart_wrestling_with_shadows/ |

Really? Wow. :o
I've thought a lot about Bulworth this election cycle. I wondered if one of the Canadians would vote for Last Night. Thanks, Maxime. Without Limits is a favorite biopic of mine. Echoing a recent discussion we had on documentaries and beforehand knowledge, I knew nothing about Prefontaine going into the movie, which might have worked to my advantage. After seeing it, I had an appreciation not only for the athlete, but the sport of middle distance running. I won't say it's all that unconventional--it's not--but it is engaging and well-done. I've seen it many times. |

Very surprised that Fear & Loathing in Las Vegas was an orphan until I saw this:
I don't remember it being so divisive. Did you forget it on your list, Russ? (not that it would have mattered.) |

Maybe if you'd let a little color bleed into your Black & White world, Yancy, you'd be a little less grumpy. |
