I'd have thought it the other way round, Shay. Despite a climax perhaps understandably over-the-top, an alien design a bit too busy and a forced romantic angle, Edge of Tomorrow is a strikingly effective genre exercise. Was taken by surprise by it myself, trotting it home from the library one day for kicks, and I've probably over-valued it as a result, but A Most Violent Year is the film that strikes me as admirable without being lovable. And Dirt, you've been keeping Frank on my radar all by yourself for months. :) |
