Don't let it get to you DW. I saw how that one Hunter woman was attacking you, sheesh, just unbelievable! |

Thanks. I said less than I wanted to say, and probably more than I should...I think it was a dearreaders.com where I finally lost it. There are several well known authors on that cite that were fed up and disgusted with Amazon's handling of the situation. |

I am totally unable to handle the anger I am receiving from my efforts to help Reba at Amazon. People either want nothing to do with this topic, or totally agree and support, or denigrate me/us so badly that I just quit. I will be here happily with "like minded people", but I wonder why the ladies on the romance forum would not just leave us alone. I am devastated at the treatment I/we have received at the hands of fellow forum members. I am very thankful, Ladies, To be able to come here, and cry on your shoulders. It is late, church in the morning, lunch(something special) for my boy who is home from college so it may be a while before I can get back here. I am very interested in reading books, and talking about them. I also continue with my support of Reba, period! So I will "see" you all tomorrow, God Willing!

DW, You're welcome! Brandy, Yes, I saw that too. That's why when some are saying we are being a mob and hysterical all I have to remember is that there are plenty of authors just as upset about this. This is not just in our heads and we're not doing this to get our fun and jollies. <_< Susiq2, I haven't been to the Amazon board yet, but I can imagine. You know, some people don't like conflict. They don't want to get involved. Just think of any argument you may have been an observer to where you did not want to get in the middle of. I can understand how people want to hear and talk books only and not this, but you know, if you don't want to get involved then don't. But just by posting about the topic they are involving themselves in one way or another. I don't understand it, there is an ignore function that Amazon has. You can ignore certain posters and then, the thread topic won't show, it'll just say "you are ignoring this customer". I know, I've done it. I used to post in the political forum and that place gets really crazy, with some really outrageous posters participating. All I did was click ignore and I never saw the thread topics or posts they wrote. Then, you can go your merry way and not have to see anything you don't want that will upset you. Those people who "don't want to hear it anymore" aren't the forum mods. They can't tell other people want to talk about and not talk about. ETA: Susiq, I checked out the Amazon board a few minutes ago. You're right. I don't think I'll be participating in the boards anymore over there. I will try to keep the "Help my negative reviews being deleted" active just so people that lurk or are new will know about the situation. No one will be able to stop me from doing that at least! |

Susiq2 and DW, Wow girls, I am so sorry about how nasty things got. I think some folks just don't get it, and I think it defeats their argument when they go into personal attack mode. We have posted over there for a long time, I will probably pop in everyonce in a while but I think this is going to be my new home to meet and hang with my E-friends. Keep your heads up the majority of folks know you weren't the ones excercising bad judment and exhibiting poor behaviour. Hugs Greenwise |

I'm pretty new to posting and have kept out of this so far, but couldn't stand it anymore. I agree completely and can't imagine why some people can't understand the concept of "if you don't like it, don't go there". It works for books, it works for TV and movies, and it works for forums. As far as I'm concerned the abuse that has been piled on just because the poster doesn't agree with you is nothing more than their version of attempted censorship, and can't be tolerated. I, too, will probably check in occasionally at Amazon, but will spend the majority of my "forum time" here. Thanks to all of you who contributed in getting this planned out and set up! |

Thats exactly my stand on the situation. If I dont want to talk about a topic I dont have to post about it. Only because there is a thread open doesnt mean I have to post, right?! If you are annoyed by the 10 post on the forum than dont open them. Thats how I handle it. I check the site, read the header, and click on the ones Im interested in. Big deal. I understand that people get annoyed that there are so few post about books. Lets face it: the last couple days it has been about the reviews issue and the troll/scary guy thing. Thats why I havent posted that much there. But the other forum memebers also have to understand that we covered pretty much all book topics over there already. We have over 1,000 topics over there and if you are looking for recs you can just browse through the pages. So pretty much all of the topics are covered already and its only natural that the attention is huge when something like that comes up. And what I really cant understand is how you can get rude over something like that. If you dont agree with someone elses opinion you can still voice it in a polite way. There is no need for something like that. I just got sick of it. I am so glad that we have the forum over here now because I know that the ladies over here are the ones with manners and a more classy behavior. |

I agree with everything you said schnuppi. We haven't been a "lynch mob" LOL, but I will admit we got very passionate but we never were frothing at the mouth.
I sometimes think it was just an excuse to complain. But you know, sometimes topics other than romance books are talked about, nothing wrong with that. Plus, that forum is not just about romance books it's supposed to be a place where people can discuss all things related to romance so there aren't any set rules about what has to be discussed. |

Some of you mentioned that you may leave the Amazon Romance Forum or reduce your participation there
, I would hate for that to happen. People disagree, argue and make each other angry, but that doesn’t mean they can’t move on and continue to communicate.

Like To Read--you can count on me to stick around at Amazon for a while. If the personal attacks decrease I think most people will be back there to some extent. But I for one love this new board. It's so much nicer to have boards organized according to topic and stuff. Part of the problem with the Amazon board is the free-for-all setup. That and that there is no moderation. I like light-handed mods, but once in a while you need someone who can step in and stop some really out of line stuff. |

Click on members at the top of the page and you can see who has joined so far. Really, for me, it's not so much issues on Amazon than I prefer better designed forum with more perks. Both are free, just one you can do more. |
