Please DO keep posting at Amazon, I just found the Reba/DAM thread today.

I am still going to check in at the Amazon board and if a good topic comes up I will write. But for now Im a little tired of the drama and I think we can discuss our books over here so much better.

It is easier for us here to control what is posted before it gets out of hand (talk about Scary Stalker Dude executioner ) and if I look for book recommendations for a certain topic I can use the search function instead of flipping through 20+ pages on the Amazon forum. I am a happy camper over here

LOL. Are you talking about "interracial sex man"?
At the time, it was serious and I was icked out about the whole situation.
Now, I can look back and laugh about how pathetic that guy really was!
Good thing we had Susiq show him we weren't going to take it and kicked him outta there pretty quick! catfight
But I agree, having an actual forum makes it easier to handle trolls. evilevil

Yep, that weirdo!

I saw his post somewhen in the late afternoon (my time) and noone had replied yet. I thought about posting something but I got that weird vibe from that topic, so I decided not to.
And than, next thing in the morning, there are like tons of topics about it and I missed everything. Took me a couple minutes to figure out what was going on but Im glad that I dodged that bullet

Hello gals,

just clarifying something. I'm not sure if my 1 star review for one of DAM's books is considered as one of the bogus ones, but I can promise you, it's not. I'd bought the Falgannon Isle book after having read all the glowing reviews and found it absolutely awful. My first review of the book disappeared and after having stumbled across the whole sad story, I decided to re-post it. So not a bogus review, but a very real one. ;)

Yup. I agree.
When I come across a review I don't agree with (whether positive or negative) if it's well-written and honest I gave it a helpful vote.
Hey, just because I don't agree with the person's review doesn't mean I'm going to be spiteful and give an unhelpful vote!

Oh, thanks for laughing smilies Essielou! Butthug Jumphappy

Yes there were a lot of new 1-star reviews on DAM's books these past 2 weeks. But after looking at the reviewers and their comments on the threads, I'm convinced that 90% of them are legitimate. Maybe some of them would have given a 2 or 3 star rating if this scandal hadn't erupted, but I believe they read the books and found them deserving less than 5 stars. soapboxrant

True, they may have decided to give a harder rating because of this whole situation.
I guess I had a problem with certain people over in the romance forums thinking you, I, and a few others against MacGillivray and Amazon's decision were behind it the sudden appearance of more negative reviews under her books.
Without any evidence whatsoever they accused.
Yah, that really galled me and ticked me off.grrr soapboxrant catfight

Yeah, that upset me a lot too. But one thing that has been making me feel better are all the 'lurkers' who have come out to defend us and our actions/words. We may have 5-10 people upset at us, but we have about 100 that have been supportive. :D

Hi,
I was over there this morning, Orion deleted her comment, maybe she changed her mind? Not sure. And another took issue with my comments, I was trying to be objective and remove my emotion from the topic, since we have been accused of being an 'angry lynching mob'. Since the paticular thread was about bashing Amazon, I didn't address the stalking DAM did, just what I thought Amazon might do. Purely speculation on my part. In a perfect world she would be completely yanked, but unless there is outside pressure above and beyond just us, (media and political) I am thinking they are going to do the least. Disappointing, I know. I did send a email to CNN, hope they pick the whole story apart and exert some pressure. If I hear anything back I will let y'all know.

I am also hoping that there are some legal consequenses for DAM. This is scary stuff. And if there isn't any current federal legislation adressing cyber stalking and bullying there damn well should be. We had a young girl commit sucide over this kind of stuff not to long ago.

Anyway, I hope y'all know I am in your corner.

So I finally heard back from Amazon on my first query to the ago@amazon.com address. That was after three previous unanswered emails using the customer service submission form on Amazon's site.

In essence, the message said they're aware of the issue and would take the "appropriate" action. There were no specifics and it was really vague. Oh! And they told me they wouldn't be able to tell me what the outcome of their investigation is.

Anyone else had a similar response from Amazon?

I’m not surprised that they said that they wouldn’t be able to share the outcome. I’m assuming that, due to confidentiality concerns\policies, they are probably only required to give specific details and information to the people personally involved and or their representatives (if they have any).

A general statement might be given to everyone else.
