I just read the best article!

Ghandi left his grandson a list of seven blunders (in a society) that lead to passive violence...

They are--

Wealth without work ...

Pleasure without conscience ...

Knowledge without character ...

Commerce without morality ...

Worship without sacrifice ...

Politics without principles ...

Rights without responsibilities ...

Yeah,
however,
he still will never be a romance hero.

Yeah,
oddly,
They aren't real popular in today's society.

Oh no, he wouldn't be a romance hero! I mean which woman dreams about a skinny wisea$$??? Just kidding doorhide

But seriously, there is something about the alpha that is attracting to us. Must be still from our cavewoman days printed into our DNA. We want the tough guys that can protect us and Ghandi doesn't really fit that bill. I know I wouldn't be attracted to him but Im married to a soldier

OK, here are my thoughts - as incoherent as they might be

Nice principles.

No romance hero. (I mean, serious ewwwwww!)

Not popular in general society. Definitely popular with the people I want to be around! :)

Exactly!
Basically, you want someone strong and decisive....with lots of testosterone.

Peace is wonderful in a world where everyone thinks the same and shares the same ideals. However, in a world where there are oppositional behaviors----
IOW, making peace is viewed as cowardice and the invitation to enslave for you are self abaseing weaking...

We don't want that--- our basic core calls for someone who will guard the gates for us.

Peace is a nice goal to work for but not always achievable.

I just like Ghandis principles to orientate myself and my behavior in that direction. The whole 'What comes around...' thing is mostly true so if Im calm and relaxed as a person most people treat me the same way. Doesn't always work but I try, and try, and try...
