My first thought... The idiot deserved it! You Never EVER mess with a full grown wild raccoon! We had 4growing up, 3 we raised from babies ( parent's were killed by different causes, mostly coon hunters killed the parents and we ended up with the babies.) The are like a cross between a cat and a dog in the way they act, but if threatened will almost always revert back to their natural ways. The first one we ever had was bottle fed until the day we had to part with her ( around 7 yrs. old) , the other two would open up cereal in the middle of the night to eat the marshmallows out... We kept all 3 until they passed away or health reasons prevented it The last raccoon ( number 4) someone brought to me was when I was 17, it was a "teen" raccoon that was eventually given the training it need to make it on it's own ( didn't need much). Every time my cousin came in the raccoon would attack his head from the back of the couch.. He was just too old to train. Beautiful creatures..... A Lot more bite to their bark than people think!!! |
