A London couple have booked into a free hotel room in New York where they are on show to the public.

With a private bathroom and a bed screened off from public view, the couple say they have been able to adjust to the space.

Duncan Malcolm and Katherine Lewis are planning to stay in the city for five days.

When I heard about this it said they only were required to have the curtains open from 4:30 to 7:30PM. Not a bad price for a free hotel in New York. What I was wondering was - are they required to be there from 4:30 to 7:30?

Ah ok. Hm, but if they are required to be there it kind of sucks. I mean you get dinner and do stuff around that time

If they are only required to have the curtains open 3 hrs/day, even if they have to be there then, I'm sure I could sit and read my book or go online for those 3 hours - way too boring to draw much attention (if there's anything I DON'T want it's my 15 minutes of fame, someone else can have mine).
