SOURCE Fortunately, there were no injuries or damage, but I have to say it's pretty disconcerting to be woke up by a bouncing bed when you're alone in the room! |

Glad to hear you and everyone else are OK! It is bad enough to feel them when you are wide awake, but really scary when you are awakened by one and aren't really sure what is going on!! |

We get fairly small ones like this every couple of years or so - don't feel them as much up where I live now, we're farther from most of the faults than Seattle is (it's built right over the top of a BIG one). These little ones are more like "pay attention and be ready, a big one could come any time." They say the Puget Sound area gets an earthquake of 7.0 or better about every 30-40 years, and the last one was in 1964, so...

I don't think we've had any earquakes in the North East of England. We did have an eartquake last year in Lincolnshire in the East Midlands that measured 5.2, with some structural damage. |
