I was thinking ... and the more I thought, the more cheated I felt.

In every season finale thus far (and while there has only been three, it is the same during all three) when all the action is going on ... Sam ... is pinned and helpless.

Season 1:
Daddy Demon has Sammy pinned while he's tearing Dean apart. It takes John overpowering the demon for Sam to break free and grab the Colt.

Season 2:
Sam is pinned to a tree while Yellow Eyes throws Dean around, once again John overpowers him so Dean can get the Colt and shoot the demon.

Season 3:
Sam is pinned to a wall while the hellhounds rip Dean apart, ultimately killing him ... making him the ultimate martyr and Sam the ultimate weaklink in the Winchesters.

I for one think this SUCKS!

I am tired of Dean playing ultimate hero.
I am tired of Sam playing ultimate selfish bastard (even though we know he isn't!)
And I am tired of Sam being pinned and out of commission while all the action is going on.

Mr. Kripke ... I want some Sam action next Season ... and hopefully it's more than a dangling of a romp in the hay. I want real Sam development and growth ... and not while he's pinned to something!

Yay!! It's about time someone spoke the truth!!!! It does always seem like Sam is helpless when there is action going down. We all know that Sam is capable of a good ass-beatin', so why not let him have the opportunity?

Again, Mr. Kripke, give the man a good finale scene! Let him show everyone what he is really made of. Don't cheat us out of it anymore!!!!!

Yeah, it's really annoying that Sam has no ... Season Finale. Even AHBL2 was all about Dean. Even that last scene with John, Sam looked like an outsider.

It's sad really that even without Jo, he is sometimes demoted to coffee boy ... or rather ... holding the wall up boy.

Because there is only room for one hero and Dean is it!

Look we all know what Eric said I see Dean as the true hero of SPN...it is why Sam is written the way he is, in his mind Sam the hero doesnt exist so why portray him as one?

Now I would love to think that Eric will have a road to Damascus style epiphany and go ohh I have two heros on the show...but I wouldnt hold my breath and any way too late Deans mythical ,martyred status is to deep set ,there is nothing Sam will do that will ever have him percieved that way

I dont blame Dean but I do blame Eric and the writing...

All I can do is agree. Dean as the saint like hero is so deeply ingrained in the writing for the show that Sam doesn't get a chance at heroic status.

And now if Sam goes darkside, even if it is a a result of saving his brother, how darkside are they going to take him? I hope we get to see Sam really struggling with this darkside stuff within him, and not just see Dean struggling with what's happening to his brother. Sam needs to be seen to struggle and fight it if he's going to be seen in any heroic light at all.

I like that Sam has this darkness to him but I really hope that it's written sympathetically next year and we get to see Sam's POV too.

Humm..that may have all sounded a bit bitter. Sorry...I'd better go eat some chocolate, get my happy hormones moving a bit.

I wonder what ole Eric boy would do if we all sent him some Sam love mail? I had, until this finale, been so tired of hearing Sam never gets this or that ... but now ... well, now I tend to agree. He doesn't

And I for one am tired of Dean dealing with this and that when it never seems to bother Sam.

Blah, make it realistic, go back to the roots of a story about TWO brothers.

Well hey!!!!!!!! *grins*
Look i actually would have agreed with you guys , only, this time Dean ws pinned too and i know he sees him as the hero and all but, honestly? If Dean was the hero as Kripke sees him then he would have saved himself...
Now... if Dean pulls himself out of hell, im gonna be one pissed of Irishwoman!
But til then im fine,im grand and im very very seriously considering going spoiler free to escape or try anyways all the heartache....

I guess what has me pleased about this finale is the fact that Sam was as active as Dean in this one... he wasnt sidelined,he was right in the thick of things trying to get dean out of it.
But i will say one thing though,to all my fellow Sam fans, it think its time, that we Sam girls got loud and proud! Its about time we let Kripke know that we are here and we are loving Sam and wanting more for him this season. If the dean girls can do it and get more, then why the hell cant we?I say we visit as many boards as we can, reply to any and all interviews and ask the same thing every time untill we get noticed...'when is sam gonna get the insight that dean has?'
Im optimistic for season 4,but hey.... better safe than sorry eh?So?What do you guys say? are we on?

I'm in! I can be all kinds of loud when it comes to Sam! I say we just take a road trip up to Vancouver, kidnap Kripke, tie him up until he agrees to give us the Sam we want, and then release him so that he may meet our demands! However, we should bring enough bail money, as we will probably be arrested for the whole "kidnapping" thing! LOL
