Dude, You Fugly

Yep exactly how I feel. Its like wanting innocence, more than just a word on paper, to survive. Sammy to me is that. Even now I want to believe that no matter what the fugly universe our Sam inhabits. that keeps stabbing at him, he will manage to keep that quality. An evil drawn Sam Winchester belittles hope, lets the bad guys win and that isn't a fun concept I ever want to consider. |

Even in the desperate way Sam tried to find alternate means of saving Dean, there wasn't that sense of "I have to turn to evil forces to solve this issue". It was only about saving Dean. Who wouldn't sacrifice something for the safety of a loved one? I think that was Dean's point at the end: to stop sacrificing. And I'm hoping Sam will listen and not turn to evil to solve his problems. Because I sure as heck don't want John's words of Dean having to kill Sam to come true (though a part of me suspects it will). *wibble* |

Yeah, me too, and while some of the Sam fans want this, I for one don't. I could deal with an episode or two, but not so far as what he does is not redeemable. I could not live with that. And sadly, I would hate EK for it. |

Well, I would loathe and despise Kripke for it! Sadly, I would, though. I think it would ruin the entire, the ENTIRE, show for me. This SPN verse would be dead as a dodo at that point. It was one thing when I thought they were doing it early on in the series, but the more they hold back on it, the more it makes me sick to think about. I don't want the writers there getting so proud of their nihilism (cough, Gemble, cough) that they don't think of the show as a show - I am watching it episode after episode because it is giving me something for that not-even-close-to-an-hour hour that I devote to it. I've immersed myself in fandom for it. I would hate for it all to end in a way that was so negative that I couldn't bear it. I've already gotten that crap from watching Joss Whedon. I've watched shows with negative endings before (Forever Knight, oh sad sad ending there!), but usually I haven't been so taken with the characters before. In a sense, Sam and Dean are this show's universe, and heart, and soul. And without them there, I really don't care what happens next, or what happens in yesteryear. I need them to live in my imaginations at least. I also really, honestly believed Kripke on the season 1 DVD when he said that Sam was supposed to be Luke Skywalker. And for that to turn out not to be true, at all, would break my heart for Sam more than it already has been. Sam facing his darkness, yes, that would be great and beautiful, if worrisome, but Sam going evil or darkside? I wouldn't want that in a million years. And if they did go there - my limit would be 1-3 episodes only. ONLY. With Sam saving himself, with Dean's help, love, and support. |

I totally agree. If he went dark, and in the end Dean killed him. I would feel so cheated, and never watch anything Kripke ever did again. Sam's compassion is what draws me to him. And while I know Jared, as an actor, would love it (hey, it's a meaty thing to play!) I would abhor it. And just hate the show in the end. |

I agree, and I think I would feel more cheated than I felt even by Joss, if we lose Sam completely. I'm far too eaten by that fear. My daughter and I are going to EyeCon in a few weeks, and worry over the show going south and ruining everything I loev have greatly dampened my enthusiasm for this trip. If the tickets hadn't been paid for last spring, I would not go now. Not because of Jared, of course. It will be sweet to meet him again, but it will also be sad, as I'm pretty sure at this point that I won't want to go to another con once they finish ruin things, sigh. So, when I met him last time, I cried from nervousness, and I'm very afraid that when I meet him this time I'll cry from sadness. And if he asks why (and he might, he was sweet last time), I don't think I can trust my big fat mouth to not say "because EK sucks, and I don't watch SN anymore because i don't want to watch them ruin Sam..." And I think thats a kind of shitty thing for a fan to say, so bleehhhh. I am having VERY mixed feelings about going at all.

Oh girl, you HAVE to tell Jared how us Sam girls feel. I mean, EK only seems to hear the Dean girls, maybe if Jared hears for himself how much we all LOVE Sam....... It might make him smile. |

(And I'm back- been out all day errand running. Booo) You really think it would be okay to say something like that to him? It seems... yanno...negative. I guess maybe if I make sure to say its because I love Sam the Hero so much that I don't want to watch him become Sam the Eviiiil. Maybe. I really REALLY wish EK weren't going in this direction at all. I feel betrayed. Oh! On Buddy TV right now they're asking fans to submit questions for an interview with the SN folk. I submitted something like: Is there any hope for fans who wanted Sammy to remain a hero on the show? I really hope they pick my question! You guys should all head over and submit Sam-centric/Sam-supportive questions too! |

So much love and WORD on this right here, because that's what drew me to Sam from the beginning. And despite all the darkness around him, you can still see the compassion. I hope EK doesn't strip Sam of that! |

Awww, thanks. I hope they do too, mostly because I'd like EK to hear that Sam fans do NOT relish this concept at all! |

MalAdjusted - Can you ask Jared if any future episodes is going to delve into Sam's mind and his John issues? Will Sam have his WIAWSNB episode? Will he have powers? Can you ask Jared what he thinks Sam's favourite book is? |
