I kinda liked Sin City, though the hunter guy Richie was irritating as heck. Sam had some great moments... throwing holy water on Trotter? Heehee! One of the cutest, most hilarious Sam moments ever! And shooting the demons at the end... that scene still gives me shivers. Loved Bobby in it, too. What was that line when Dean asked if the Colt would be ready by the afternoon? "No... but I can guarantee it'll kill you." Hahaha! And then, of course, shooting Ruby. Love that scene as well. ![]() Casey was a pretty good demon, too. IMO those scenes with her and Dean in the cellar went on kinda long, but they were good. I liked that she was a Sam follower. Makes you wonder how many more demons there are out there like her. What did you think? |

This is a great eppie! Richie was hysterical. Why do all the goods ones have to die? I love that Dean gave him a proper burial, even if we didn't get to see it. I love when Sam went to the crime boss's office and gets caught. Sam was so adorable in this eppie. I really liked the scenes between Dean and Casey, although I wish writers had let Dean know the exorcism by heart. He's not a dumb guy. The guy killing himself in church was creepy. Bobby was awesome in this eppie. Ruby calling Sam her boy was creepy. |

Oh! I forgot about the scene at the end where Sam pulls the gun on Ruby. That was awesome. ![]() I liked that Dean gave Richie a proper burial, too. Aww. It must have really stung to have to keep acting attracted to Casey after finding his friend like that.

I know. That's why Dean's such a good hunter. You could see from the first time he was on the screen, that Richie was probably going to be in over his head. I bet Dean felt guilty for not getting Richie to leave town. |

It sounded to me like Dean was using an exorcism he hadn't used on the show before. The way it started was totally different. So maybe that was why the writers didn't have him know it by heart? ITA, Dean is definitely not a dumb guy. |

I really liked this episode because it was so character-driven. We get to see Sam really different for the first time in the season, his newfound 'shoot first and ask questions later' mentality. We get to see Dean's 'I'm going to hell and lovin' every moment left' facade crack, revealing the serious doubts and even fear he has about going to hell. We see Dean's fear for Sam and whether the YED was right: Sam had come back wrong (which I refuse to believe for a second). One of my favorite episodes for season three! |

*sniffs* Goodbye, General Hammond! I loved Sam getting caught sneaking around their place and being so apologetic about it. Snerk. I enjoyed this episode. My beef is that it was neither that sinful nor that much of a city, really. Came back for more on the episode -- I liked Ruby in this. Not sure I liked Bobby just opening fire on her - this is the first point where the show started making a mess of earilier attitudes on human hosts possessed by demons. Sam fired on those demons at the end, and it was troubling - but it was not done cavalierly - Dean was in immediate danger, and Sam wouldn't know if the female demon was friendly or not, given the circumstances. Also, you could see by the look in his eyes that as he was shooting, he was a little freaked out about what he was doing. And he was a little shaken up afterwards, too. I don't think Dean's not knowing the exorcism ritual by heart shows anything about his intelligence. Demons are going to say nasty things to trip people up - and that's what she did, she rattled Dean and destroyed his book. Have we ever seen Bobby do it by heart? I think Sam is the only character we've seen on the show do that, so I don't think Dean was being put down by the writers here. Ruby told Sam to toughen up and expect casualties in this war at the end of the episode - I wonder if this is where Sam stared thinking of the world as "this craphole" - poor Sam, being trained to fight a war by himself, and not feeling up to it. |
