Finals 4-6-16 Arrow 4.18 2.24M, 0.8 SPN: 11.18 1.75M, 0.7 Arrow is down but SPN is up 0.1; from a show rating's perspective, I'll take it even though in my opinion 11.18 was inferior to 11.16 & 11.17. Confusing and controversial movement in the mytharc. SPN and Arrow will return on 4/27/16 and run through til their finales on 5/25/16. Yay! Another demo tie with LoT The CW ranks for the week ending 4-8-16 (demo than viewers): 1) Arrow 2.24M, 0.8; 2) LoT 1.88M, 0.7; 3) SPN 1.75M, 0.7 - -> demo tie with LoT; 4) T100 1.13M,0.4; 5) iZ 1.07M, 0.4; 6) TVD 1.03M, 0.3; 7) TO 0.89M, 0.3 * No CR X, JtV, TF this week; Arrow and SPN return 4/27/16. iZ 2 ep season 2 finale Tuesday, 4/12/16 starting at 8 pm ETA : Delayed (DVR) viewing week ending 4-10-16 Includes Arrow/SPN episodes 18 Chart 1: (TF didn’t air this week) Chart 2: TO 0.3 to 0.7, 133%; T100 0.4 to 0.8, 100%; Lot 0.7 to 1.3, 86%; Arrow 0.8 to 1.4, 75%; iZ & TVD 0.4 to 0.7, 75%; SPN 0.7 to 1.2, 71% Chart 4: SPN 1.750M to 2.755M , 57% Arrow 2.239M to 3.394M, 52% |

Finals 4-27-16 Arrow 4.19 2.29M, 0.9 SPN: 11.19 1.67M, 0.7 Thanks to rain in the Chicago viewing area (WGN - #3 affiliate) The CW original programing was not pre-empted as was scheduled. So the good news is Arrow was up 0.1 from its last new episode on April 6 and SPN was steady at 0.7. 11.19, The Chitters, improved a lot on re-watch without commercials as some episodes do. With commercial breaks the episode felt 'jerky'. The CW ranks for the week ending 4-29-16 (demo than viewers): 1) TF 3.39M, 1.3; 2) Arrow 2.29M, 0.9; 3) LoT 1.86M, 0.7; 4) SPN 1.67M, 0.7 - -> demo tie with LoT; 5) Cont. 1.56M, 0.5; 6) T100 1.272M,0.4; 7) TVD 1.05M, 0.3; 8) TO 0.93M, 0.4; 9) JtV 0.84M, 0.4; 10) Reign 0.92M, 0.3 Finally! Finals 5-4-16 Arrow 4.20 2.07M, 0.7 SPN: 11.20 1.54M, 0.6 Ouch both shows – in particular SPN barely squeaked out the 0.6 and Arrow once again tied its series low as did SPN but SPN has received many 0.6’s. The CW ranks for the week ending 5-5-16 (demo than viewers): 1) TF 3.34M, 1.3; 2) Arrow 2.07M, 0.7; 3) LoT 1.63M, 0.6; 4) SPN 1.54M, 0.6 - -> another demo tie with LoT); 5) Cont. 1.42M, 0.5; 6) T100 1.13M, 0.4; 7) Reign 0.96M, 0.3; 8) TVD 0.90, 0.3; 9) JtV 0.86M, 0.3; 10) TO 0.83M, 0.3 ETA : Delayed (DVR) viewing week ending 5-8-16 Arrow/SPN eps 20 Chart 1: TF 1.3 to 2.1, 62% Chart 2: TVD 0.3 to 0.8, 167%; JtV 0.3 to 0.7, 133%; SPN 0.6 to 1.2, 100%; TO 0.3 to 0.6, 100%; Arrow 0.7 to 1.3, 86%; LoT 0.6 to 1.1, 83%; The 100 0.4 to 0.7, 75%; Reign 0.3 to 0.5, 62% Chart 4: SPN 1.535M to 2.773M, 81% Arrow 2.071M to 3.257M, 57% |

Finals 5-11-16 Arrow 4.21 2.16M, 0.8 SPN: 11.21 1.75M, 0.7 Yay, Arrow and SPN both up 0.1. Next week many sources Arrow/SPN will be preempted in Chicago so prelim ratings are subject to more adjustment. Last time 'we' got lucky and it rained so the Baseball Game was delayed. In other CW show -related news CBS’s Supergirl is getting moved to The CW for S2 meaning one of the new pilots in contention for series orders could be impacted. I will post the full new series pickups and the Fall 2016 schedule in the 'Sam & Dean Spoiler free zone media' section when available. The CW ranks for the week ending 5-13-16 (demo than viewers): 1) TF 3.52M, 1.3; 2) Arrow 2.16M, 0.8; (3) LoT 1.89M, 0.7; 4) SPN 1.75M, 0.7 - -> another demo tie with LoT ; 5) Cont. 1.35M, 0.5; 6) T100 1.17M, 0.4; 7) TVD S7 Finale 1.04M, 0.4: 8) JtV 0.90M, 0.3; 9) TO 0.79M, 0.3; 10) Reign 0.78M, 0.2 Special Note: Posting of the 'Delayed Viewing' (Live + 7 day) results for the week ending 5-1-16 that include Arrow/SPN episodes 19 (Spring returns) have either been delayed by Nielsen or by the apparent fact that the 'source' I use - tvbythenumbers seems to be a one man show these days and he's busy with all the other non CW broadcast renewals, cancellations and new, post 'upfront' schedule announcements - NBC, Fox and ABC have released theirs. Next up CBS and CW. The L+3 data for the week of 5-2 to 5-8 is available but only Flash usually makes these charts. ETA : Delayed (DVR) viewing week ending 5-15-16 Arrow/SPN eps 21 Chart 1: TF 1.3 to 2.1, 62% Chart 2: Reign 0.2 to 0.5, 150%; JtV 0.3 to 0.7, 133%; TVD 0.4 to 0.8, 100%; TO 0.3 to 0.6, 100%; The 100 0.4 to 0.7, 75%; LoT 0.7 to 1.2, 71%; Arrow 0.8 to 1.3, 63%. Finals 5 18-16 Arrow 4.22 1.94M, 0.7 SPN: 11.22 1.59M,0.6 Yikes both shows but could have been worse as a Chicago preemption and facing season finales on ABC, CBS and Fox combined to lower ratings. I’m surprised at the low viewer total for Arrow – it’s the first time this season it’s been below 2M but unsurprised by SPN’s 0.6 as 11.22 was a very disjointed - to put it mildly - episode from Berens. The CW ranks for the week ending 5-20-16 (demo than viewers): 1) TF 3.37M, 1.3; 2) Arrow 1.94M, 0.7; 3) LoT S1 Finale 1.85M, 0.7; 4) SPN 1.59M, 0.6 ; 5) Cont. 1.28M, 0.5; 6) T100 S3 finale 1.29M, 0.5; 7) JtV S2 Finale 0.97M, 0.4; 8) TO S3 Finale 0.85M, 0.3; 9) Reign 0.76M, 0.3 ETA : Delayed (DVR) viewing week ending 5-22-16 Arrow/SPN eps 22 Chart 1: TF 1.3 to 2.2, 69%; SPN 0.6 to 1.2, 100%; Arrow 0.7 to 1.3, 86% * Rare for any CW show besides TF to make ‘Chart 1’ – sign that many shows had their finales previous week although SPN faced several finales. Chart 2: TO 0.3 to 0.7, 133%; SPN 0.6 to 1.2, 100%; Arrow 0.7 to 1.3, 86%; JtV 0.4 to 0.7, 75%; LoT 0.7 to 1.2, 71%; Reign 0.3 to 0.5, 67%; The 100 0.5 to 0.8, 60% Chart 4: SPN 1.629M to 2.729M, 68%; Arrow 1.974M to 3.201M, 62% |

Finals 5 25-16 Arrow 4.23 2.19M, 0.8 SPN: 11.23 1.84M, 0.7 The CW ranks for the period ending 5-25-16 (demo than viewers): 1) TF S2 Finale 3.35M, 1.3; 2) Arrow S4 Finale 2.19M, 0.8; 3) SPN S11 Finale 1.84M, 0.7 ; 4) Cont. 1.40M, 0.5; 5) Reign 0.95M, 0.3 At least the SPN was up 0.1 from last week – the prelims were 0.8 but it adjusted down; I’m somewhat happy because while the finale had some strong moments there were several scenes I’m still cringing over. Finale demos by top 4 shows: 1) TF 1.3; 2) Arrow 0.8; 3) Tie – Lot/SPN 0.7 ‘Early’ L+3 delayed viewing for TF/Arrow/SPN finales (May 24, 25, 2016)* TF 1.3 to 1.8, 38%; Arrow 0.8 to 1.2, 50%; SPN 0.7 to 1.2, 71% SPN 48% viewer gain; Arrow 39% viewer gain * Arrow/SPN are likely represented again because overall tv new broadcast programming 'this week' was so light; still it establishes when delayed viewing is added, on average SPN ratings have dropped very little in the post S7. Again, all ratings data from TVBTN http://tvbythenumbers.zap2it.com/2016/06/1...may-23-29-2016/ ETA 2 : Delayed (DVR) viewing week ending 5-29-16 Arrow/SPN ep23’s Finales plus TF Finale Chart 1: SPN 0.7 to 1.3, 86%; Arrow 0.8 to 1.4, 75%; TF 1.3 to 1.9, 48% - -> low for TF but finale was underwhelming in comparison to S1's; Reign 0.3 to 0.5, 67%; Containment 0.5 to 0.7, 40% Chart 2: Same data as Chart 1 Chart 3 and 4, same data: SPN 1.836M to 2.990M, 63%; Arrow 2.193M to 3.313, 51% |

Season 12 ratings Preparing to start populating 'what is known' later or tomorrow. On this seasons' ratings thread I will drop the 'weekly' ranks (unless SPN does unexpectedly well against the new and returning Fall 2016 CW Programming) for a system reporting the 'daily' show ratings for the week, editing when the 'Friday Finals' are released. I will continue to report all DVR data supplied. For The CW program starting Tuesday October 4 and ending Wednesday, October 5 there are four premieres: The Flash (TF), No Tomorrow (NT), Arrow and Frequency (FRQ). No Tomorrow and Frequency are series premieres while Supergirl S2 is The CW premiere. The following week will see the premieres of Supergirl (SPG) Monday, Oct 10, Legends of Tomorrow (LoT)/Supernatural(SPN) Thursday Oct 13, with Jane the Virgin (JtV) Oct 17 (after SPG) and final season The Vampire Diaries (TVD) and Crazy Ex Girlfriend (CEG) Friday Oct 21. The next ratings post(s) will either be press releases for the Oct 4/5 shows or ratings data for the 4 shows. So far TF is down 0.1 from its S2 premiere (Final demo 1.3) and NT had a very modest series premiere Final demo of 0.5. |

Not the best start for the new CW season, particularly Arrow and Jeremy Carver's new show (based on a movie by the same name) Frequency. Oct 4 - 5 Ratings Tuesday, Oct 4 TF S3 Premiere: 3.17M, 1.3 --> down a reasonable 0.1 demo from S2 premiere, even with season S2 finale NT Series Premiere: 1.51M, 0.5 --> decent for a CBS-owned show, about what iZombie on average was doing post-TF last season Wednesday, Oct 5 Arrow S5 premiere: 1.87M, 0.7 --> down 0.4 from S4 premiere, down 0.1 from S4 finale (0.8) FRQ Series Premiere:1.35M, 0.4 --> very low for a WB-owned series premiere For comparison's sake next Thursday (in case I forget to review last year's ratings data) SPN's S11 premiere was 0.9 and 0.9 was the highest rating for S11, and LoT premiered at 1.2 but demo eroded to tying SPN many times and both show's finale demoes were 0.7. As far as I know about Legends there have some cast changes - characters leaving because their S1 arcs were finished and new characters replacing them so I hope everything's ok for LoT and it will be a reasonable lead-in for SPN until it's replaced by a midseason series. Gotta say that 0.7 premiere for Arrow makes me nervous for LoT/SPN. The positive thing about most CW series is that the premiere isn't always the highest rated of the season. ETA: Delayed Viewing for week ending 10-9 (Note: Live + 7 day results seem to be released a week earlier than prior years) Week ending 10-9-16 Only TF/NT/Arrow/FRQ Chart 1: TF 1.3 to 2.1, 62% Chart 2: Arrow – 0.7 to 1.3, 86% Neither NT (0.5) nor FRQ made Chart 2 which ended at 58% (Sort of Edit – a poster on another board relayed that Rick Porter of tvbtn’s answered a poster question; FRQ – 0.4 to 0.6, NT 0.5 to 0.6, ) (on Chart 4 – viewer gain – FRQ increased by 53% - as with last season, past this week I will only report Chart 4 results for LoT – and whatever show may replace it, if any, and SPN) |

Supergirl S2 Premiere Press Release http://programminginsider.com/network/voic...monday-victory/ (for some reason I can't get my shortcut links to work on my computer on this site today) (Based on prelim data as is normal) FROM THE CW The network debut of SUPERGIRL delivered The CW's most watched show (3.024M) in its time period in nearly 8 years (GOSSIP GIRL on 12/1/08), the best rating in A18-49 (1.1/4) in nearly 6 years (90210 on 12/6/10), and its highest rating in A18-34 (0.9/4) in almost 5 years (11/21/11). SUPERGIRL was also The CW's highest rated show ever in its time period in M18-49 (1.2/4). Compared to the same week last season (10/12/15, series premiere of CRAZY EX-GIRLFRIEND), SUPERGIRL more than tripled the performance in total viewers and all key demos. Versus last season's time period averages, SUPERGIRL was +246% in total viewers, +200% in A18-34, and +267% in A18-49. SUPERGIRL ranked #3 in its time period in M18-34 (0.9/4) and #3 (tie) in M18-49. (Although The CW may have released PR's for No Tomorrow and Frequency premieres, they both were so low that I didn't bother checking the site - I still normally avoid this site but the 'renamed' TVBTN (I'll link when I see any L+3 reports after '3 days or L+7's in three weeks, unless the timing has changed - I believe I read that Networks would be quicker to release L+7's) hasn't posted anything yet.) |

http://programminginsider.com/network/freq...main-promising/ (from Thursday) FROM THE CW Last night's ARROW rose +4% in total viewers (1.95M) over its season premiere episode last week and held steady in all key demos (0.6/3 in A18-34, 0.7/3 in A18-49). ARROW matched NBC in the hour in A18-34, and also ranked #3 in M18-34 (0.8/4, tie). FREQUENCY also held even in A18-34 (0.3/1) with last week's series debut. In Live + 3 Day delayed viewing, last week's ARROW premiere rose +49% in total viewers, +57% in A18-34, and +65% in A18-49 over its L+SD totals. FREQUENCY saw gains of +34% in total viewers, +36% in A18-34, and +35% in A18-49.) ---------------- The only reason I posted this is because I assume L+3 day info is available for Flash premiere, too, but the only source I can find this info on is Berman's site but there was a 'substitute poster' when Tuesday's ratings were released. The former TVBTN - still my sole source of 'DVR data' is incredibly confusing now and the L+3 reporting has been very spotty. BTW, Frequency got an 0.3 this week after an 0.4 for it's premiere so JC's new project is doing far worse than I expected and The CW must be less than thrilled. Final data for the week will be posted once the Thursday Finals are released. |

Some good news at least (note, this PR is very preliminary, there were at least several, that I know of 'tv occurrences' last night that may affect the Final ratings). Relayed via PI.com (full link above) – Mark Berman’s TV site – the actual headline has a promo picture from the official pre season photo shoot with “Positive Return for ‘Supernatural’ on The CW as the Thursday’s ratings headline. Supernatural got an extremely rare “Honorable Mention” from the site FROM THE CW Last night's season premiere of DC'S LEGENDS OF TOMORROW averaged 1.84M viewers, a +34% gain over THE VAMPIRE DIARIES season premiere in the same time period last season (10/8/15), and a +45% increase over last season's time period average. LEGENDS held its audience from last season's finale, matching the finale rating in A18-34 (0.5/2) and in total viewers. LEGENDS ranked #2 (tie) in the hour among M18-34 (0.6/3). In its 12th (!) season premiere, SUPERNATURAL was up +12% in total viewers (2.18M) over its series premiere last season (Wednesday, 10/7/15), and held steady in A18-34 (0.7/3). SUPERNATURAL delivered the most show in its time period in three years, since the series premiere of THE ORIGINALS on 10/3/13, and was the highest-rated show in its time period in A18-34 and A18-49 (0.8/3) in three years (10/17/13, series premiere of REIGN). Compared to THE ORIGINALS season premiere in the time period last season, SUPERNATURAL more than doubled its audience in total viewers (+144%), and was up +75% in A18-34 and +100% in A18-49. --------------------------- So fingers crossed that the demo adjusts up, or at least holds. Even if adjusts down SPN will tie Arrow's premiere and this week's 0.7. As above, full ratings for the partial week (10-10 to 10-13) in a few hours. |

For the time being I'm going to provide weekly results, by date, rather than rank. I will add the 'rank' alongside of the results. For demo ties I will designate ties by a 't', such as #1 t, #2 t, and so forth. For example both SG and TF received 1.1's in demo this week, so I will post '10-10 SG (viewer total) #1t', for 10-11 Flash (viewer total) #1t - this how TV rating sites organize data rather than by 'demo, than viewers' that would make either #1 or #2. I'll see how this works for a few weeks before going back to the #1, 2, 3, etc system by total viewers. This 'week': 10-10 SG S2 Premiere 3.06M, 1.1 #1t NT r 10-11 TF 2.80M, 1.1 #1t --> ties series low NT 0.74M, 0.2 #7 10-12 Arrow 1.94M, 0.7 #4 FRQ 1.08M, 0.3 #6 10-13 LoT S2 Premiere 2.02 1.82, 0.6 #5 SPN S12 Premiere 12.01 2.15, 0.8 #3 that's how TV sites would rank Supernatural. SPN is the #3 of the premieres and is the #3 CW show this week SPN did much better than I expected and NT is doing very poorly. FRQ is also under-performing but how much depends on how TVD and CEG do next Friday. I expect JtV will do 0.4 or better when it premieres out of SG next Monday. ETA: Delayed viewing for week ending 10-16-16 Chart 1 – nothing Chart 2 FRQ 0.3 to 0.6, 100%; LoT P 0.6 to 1.2, 100%; Arrow 0.7 to 1.3, 86%; SPN P 0.8 to 1.4, 75%. Chart 2 ended at 67% No SG P (1.1) TF (1.1), NT (0.2) Chart 4 LoT 1.819M to 3.012, 66% SPN No data Chart 4 (viewer increase) ended at 52% was the only chart TF made; SG premiere did not make any charts – but this is typical of most CW shows with ‘high Live + Same Day’ ratings. As with TVD in its heyday, Flash has often made both Chart 1, (2) and the 'new' Chart 4, but in this DVR period Flash only made Chart 4. It's weird SPN did not make Chart, though, the % differences between data for Chart 2 (speaking only of SPN) and not normally 20% + different. SPN has occasionally not made 'Chart 4' but only when it was at close to the bottom reported % -wise of Chart 2. No Tomorrow was a dud this period, as with premiere week (last reported week). However, CEG was also a L+SD and L+7 dud and as it was CBS-owned, it was renewed, but CEG also won Golden Globe and an Emmy for The CW. |
