11/5/10 SV Ep 10.07 2.61M (A18-49; 1.1/4) SPN Ep 6.07 2.42M (A18-49; 1.1/4) Quite a substantial drop in the Fast Nationals for SV this week and when SV drops viewers in a new episode SPN also drops viewers, which is unfortunate because I thought this week’s SPN was one of the most exciting this season. I caught the last 10 minutes or so of SV and to me it seemed kind of dull, dinner with Lois’s dad. I’d be interested to see the half hour breakdown’s for both episodes. The good news is that both shows retained their adult demo ratings from last week in spite of less viewers. Both shows are currently beating Nikita’s “finals” for this week (and last week) and I’ll compare all three shows when the Friday “Finals” come out late Monday or Tuesday. The CW may see a flip between second place (in viewers), Nikita, and he third place, scripted drama, Smallville, if SV keeps getting above S9's average viewers (2.32M viewers). Finals Smallville - 2.634 million viewers - 1.6/3 HH - 1.1/4 A18-49 - 1.2/5 A18-34 - 1.1/5 W18-34 Supernatural - 2.459 million viewers - 1.5/3 HH - 1.1/4 A18-49 - 1.2/5 A18-34 - 1.4/5 W18-34 --> season high for "young women" Both shows ticked up slightly and both shows beat the Nikita “Finals”. There’s chatter on pifeedback about pairing Nikita with SPN next season but also chatter that if Nikita doesn’t start performing better in the young adult demos the CW might not give it an S2 but of course these are just the opinions of the posters and the site moderator. SPN and SV – on Fridays – have beaten Nikita for the last two weeks in total viewers and in young adults and young women. “Vs 11-4 -10 Nikita finals” Nikita - 2.411 million viewers - 1.5/2 HH - 0.9/2 A18-49 - 0.9/3 A18-34 - 1.1/3 W18-34 Edited 11-23-10 to add DVR results: Both SV and SPN were tied at #4 and # with adult demo increases of 36% going from 1.1 to 1.5 in adults 18-49. |

11/12/10 SV Ep 10.08 2.89M (A18-49; 1.3/4) Terry Hatcher guested; I think this a season high adult demo for SV; Berman gave it “Honorable Mention” for scoring #2 in demo SPN Ep 6.08 2.08M (A18-49; 0.9/3) season low in viewers and fast national demo – Berman put SPN in “loser” category; pre-empted in St. Louis “Market” but I have no idea how “big” the St. Louis market is. Ugh for SPN. Great for SV! Finals Smallville (94% coverage CW normally 95%) - 2.900 million viewers - 1.8/3 HH - 1.3/4 A18-49 - 1.1/4 A18-34 - 0.9/3 W18-34 Supernatural (94% coverage) - 2.087 million viewers - 1.3/2 HH - 0.9/3 A18-49 - 0.8/3 A18-34 - 0.9/3 W18-34 These finals are kind of odd because all numbers usually drop after pre-emption but this time they rose a little for each show. At least both shows scored the small low W18-34 demo, which is odd because I thought that SV would have soundly beaten us because a strong and well loved character in the Superman mythos, Teri Hatcher guested. I guess most younger females in the age bracket aren't familiar with "Lois & Clark", while the older adults (18-49) and males (18-34) are. Edit 12/2/10 to "add DVR info". For the period ending 11/14/2010, (SV 10.08 – Teri Hatcher guest starred, SPN 6.08) neither SV nor SPN made the top 25 (>32%) adult demo increases. SV had a season high “Adult Demo” of 1.3 already so their Live+SD ratings were already excellent, but I’m surprised that SPN didn’t make the top 25 because it was pre-empted and shown “later”. Maybe Nielson “DVR’s” don’t work as they normally do when shows are pre-empted. |

11/19/10 SV Ep 10.09 2.60M (A18-49; 1.1/4) SPN Ep 6.09 2.03M (A18-49; 0.9/3) Pre-empted in Chicago (#3 US TV Market) Finals Smallville - 2.601 million viewers - 1.5/3 HH - 1.1/4 A18-49 - 1.1/5 A18-34 - 1.0/4 W18-34 Supernatural (92% coverage CW normally 95%) - 1.935 million viewers - 1.2/2 HH - 0.9/3 A18-49 - 1.0/4 A18-34 - 1.1/4 W18-34 Well the combination of preemptions & Harry Potter drove down the final SPN finals but we did beat SV again in the W18-34 demo. But sub-2M viewers, not so good, particularly after the winter hiatus when we’re up against Fringe again. Hope we bounce back to > 2M viewers in 6.10 & 6.11; I have no idea if either or both episode will be affected by pre-emptions.Edited 12/6/10 to add DVR results: At least some good news - SPN was #4 in Adult Demo 18-49 increases with 44% rising from 0.9 to 1.3. SV was not in the top 25 largest adult demo increases for this period (Nov 15-21, 2010). |

Sorry this is so late – the Finals were delayed due to the holiday and I was busy yesterday. Reruns 11/26/10 SV Ep 10.07 (Ambush*) 1.58M (A18-49; 0.6/2 #4t) SPN Ep 6.01 1.43 (A18-49; 0.5/2) Juicy tidbit – over summer reruns only the rerun of SPN 5.01 on 5/27/10 had higher fast nat viewers @1.45M and an equal Adult 18-49 demo. 5.01 also reran on THURSDAY after a TVD rerun. 0.5/2 was the highest summer 2010 adult demo and 0.5/2 was reached 3 more times in the summer: 5.04, 5.15 and 5.16. So I would say SPN did very well. SV,of course, also did very well as their first summer rerun on 5/28/10 only averaged 1.22M viewers with similar adult demo. I have no idea why SV re-ran 10.07 first. * out of sequence Finals Smallville (R, 94% coverage CW normally 95%) - 1.557 million viewers - 1.0/2 HH - 0.5/2 A18-49 - 0.4/2 A18-34 - 0.4/2 W18-34 Supernatural (R, 94% coverage) - 1.376 million viewers - 0.9/2 HH - 0.5/2 A18-49 - 0.5/2 A18-34 - 0.5/2 W18-34 Both shows did very well and both shows “won” the adult demo for Thanksgiving week reruns of all CW scripted shows. In addition SPN beat SV by 0.1 demo point in the Young Adult demos (A&W). Edited 12/13/10 to add DVR results for week ending 11/28/10: None, because both shows were reruns. Next Monday 12/20/10 we (hopefully)should have nice increases for episode 10 of each show. |

12/3/10 SV Ep 10.10 2.79M (A18-49; 1.1/4) SPN Ep 6.10 2.13M (A18-49; 1.0/3 ) SV did very well and SPN didn’t perform nearly as well as I expected for such a great episode. I hope SPN doesn’t drop too much in the finals. At least SPN wasn’t in the “loser” category this week. The other good news besides “beating” our FN viewers for the last two weeks is that we regained 0.1 adult point (back up to 1.0 from 0.9) and hopefully we don’t lose it in the finals. Still the CW’s performance was good enough for second place tie in “Adults” for SV and third place tie for SPN, and a third place overall in total viewers. The semi bad news is that “The Good Guys” on Fox is being cancelled and as most of us know is being replaced by Fringe at 9 pm and Fringe also has a very loyal audience plus a shared audience with SPN. Fringe also has about 45-55% consistent DVR viewership and does much better in the adult demo (~1.9 vs SPN’s current ~1.0). Will approximately “5 million Nielson viewers follow the show to Fridays” to watch “Live” and maintain their “demo”? Or even more will more watch “live” because they DVRed and watched on Fridays? Will our “shared” audience “watch” SPN "live" and "DVR" Fringe – because they are used to watching SPN “live on Fridays” or will they they chose to DVR SPN and and watch within a few hours (literally by 3 am but logically by no later than 12 am) so it will “count” in the “Live + Same Day” Fast Nationals? I’m going to be biting what’s left of my nails for the first few Fridays after the break until Fringe’s influence is stabilized. I’m a little nervous though. SPN is very likely to be renewed unless the CW wants to replace SPN with TVD encores and Nikita S2 (assuming Nikita is renewed; it’s not doing that well in “adults” – about half the time SV and/or SPN “beat it” on Fridays). What's on "our" side for renewal is that 1)the J's have already signed a contract for S7 and 2)The CW is not likely to drop SPN and lose SV, too, because SV's ending. But I'm not positive - it depends on how many new shows get "Pilot orders". Fringe is somewhat likely to not be renewed; Berman says the move to Fridays will not be good for the show but a few days ago I read where the “Fringe” PTB’s were not doom and gloomy at all – after all FOX’s X-Files was on Friday’s for years . SPN’s “Thursday” 2009-10 Adult Demo dropped in S5 by 0.08 demo points and the show “lost” just over half a million viewers when comparing S4 to S5; I attribute most of the drop to Fringe. Actually the largest fall was from the S5 vs S4 premieres and the drop from the S5 premiere from 3.4M to 5.02 2.78M (against Fringe S2 premiere); although many episodes in S5 were higher than 2.78M the show never regained the “half million” viewers it lost. For S6 to date with 10 episodes “in” our Adult Demo is hovering about 1.05 assuming we don’t drop a “demo point” in the Finals. We have one more episode to air and I hope it gets as good or better "numbers" than 6.10 - the promo has lots of Dean/Death and Tessa in it - all very popular characters and all Dean fans love Dean and Death and Dean and Tessa - I do, too, but I'm nervous about the Sam/Bobby scenes. Finals Smallville (94% coverage CW normally 95%) - 2.760 million viewers - 1.7/3 HH - 1.1/4 A18-49 - 0.9/4 A18-34 - 0.7/3 W18-34 Supernatural (94% coverage) - 2.148 million viewers - 1.3/2 HH - 1.0/3 A18-49 - 0.8/3 A18-34 - 0.8/3 W18-34 SV dipped slightly and SPN rose slightly; both held their respective "Adults 18-49" demo but although SPN "beat" SV in W18-34 this was a season low for this demo. I hope SPN goes up in all rating categories for 6.11. Edited 12/20/10 to add DVR Results: Largest 18-49 Demo Percentage Increase From DVR Viewing for Broadcast TV Shows (November 29 – December 5): #3 SUPERNATURAL-12/03.......... 1.0........... 1.4........... 0.4........... 40% #24 SMALLVILLE-12/03.............. 1.1........... 1.4........... 0.3 ...........27% |

12/10/10 SV Ep 10.11 2.57 M (A18-49; 1.0/4) SPN Ep 6.11 2.24 M (A18-49; 1.0/3 ) “Nothing”, according to Mark Berman ,was a “winner” on this lackluster Friday. In fast nationals SV was down from the week before but SPN was up 100,000 “viewers” but I hoped for more. SV was "down" 0.1 in the adult demo from last week and SPN's was the same at 1.0. Hopefully Nielson viewers of all shows were either attending holiday parties or holiday shopping. The CW came in Fourth place in the demo and in total viewers. And hopefully both show’s DVR results will be a bit higher than they are averaging now. Keep in mind that Fox’s “Good Guys” at 9 pm has been cancelled and will be replaced by Fringe which I expect perform better than TGG. I have no idea what Fox will air at 8 pm Fridays. Finals Smallville - 2.545 million viewers - 1.6/3 HH - 1.0/4 A18-49 - 1.0/4 A18-34 - 0.8/3 W18-34 Supernatural - 2.271 million viewers - 1.4/3 HH - 1.0/3 A18-49 - 1.0/4 A18-34 - 1.1/4 W18-34 For episodes #11 SV fell a little in the finals and SPN rose. SPN also regained some ground in the women demo rising back to 1.1 from it’s previous season low last week. SPN beat SV again and tied with Nikita which just edged out SPN in viewers for this week. --------------------------------- SPN 6.01-6.11 averages: Avg 6.01-6.11 viewers = 2.38M Avg 6.01-6.11 "Adults"demo = 1.05 Avg 6.01-6.11 YW demo = 1.11 I think for Fridays at 9 pm these "numbers" are considered "good" for the CW; both shows frequently perform better in "adults" than 90210, OTH, and Gossip Girl and often better than Nikita. ====================== Edited 12/28/10 to add DVR results for the week ending 12/12: Supernatural and Smallville were tied at #4 & 5 with adult demo increases of 40% from 1.0 (both shows) to 1.4. |

Rerun 12/24/10 SV Ep 10.xx 1.02M avg (A18-49; 0.4/1.5 avg) I’m not keeping track of the SV rerun numbers – for info see Calendar on Spoiler TV (I think it was 10.01 though). SPN Ep 6.07 1.05M avg (A18-49; 0.4/1.5 avg ) Yay, SPN beat SV (a little) in viewers and tied it in the demo. Not bad for Christmas Eve. I checked last year at this time (I think SPN reran AVSC) and we “beat” last year’s total viewers (1.05M vs 0.95M) I’ve been waiting the “Finals”- sometimes they are posted for reruns and sometimes they aren’t. I read on TVbytn Sunday that “Finals” were just released a few days ago so Thursday and Friday Finals may not be available yet. Edited 1/14/11 to add partial "Finals" data: Finals (partial – provided by “Douglas” at PIFeedback.com) Smallville 1.011M viewers 0.6/1 HH 0.4/2 A18-49 Supernatural 1.045M viewers 0.6/1 HH 0.4/2 A18/49 Both SV and SPN dropped a little in the finals and gained a fraction of the audience share |

Rerun 12/31/10 12/31/10 SV Ep 10.xx 1.19M (A18-49; 0.4/) SPN Ep 6.08 1.06M (A18-49; 0.3/1 ) SPN slightly “beat” last week’s avg in total viewers (but had lower adult demo) and SV performed well for a rerun on New Year’s Eve. Last year on this date SPN had 0.72M viewers and TVD had only 1.09M viewers (similar demos as this season): so Team SV/SPN “outperformed” the New Year’s Eve combo of TVD/SPN on “Thursdays” which are generally more “watched” than typical Fridays. I don’t remember what episode SPN reran last year. Edited 1/14/11 to add partial "Finals" data: Finals (partial – provided by “Douglas” at PIFeedback.com) Smallville 1.135M viewers 0.7/2 HH 0.3/1 A18-49 Supernatural 1.077M viewers 0.6/1 HH 0.3/1 A18/49 SV viewers “fell” slightly and SPN rose slightly; SV dropped 0.1 adult demo point, SPN stayed the same. |

Rerun 01/07/11 01/07/11 SV Ep 10.xx 1.50M (A18-49; 0.6/.2/) SPN Ep 6.09 1.24M (A18-49; 0.5/1 ) The rerun of SV beat TVD and Nikita in total viewers and the adult 18-49 demo; the team of SV/SPN had only 0.04M viewers less than TVD/Nikita and had a higher average adult demo. Not for the first time, I wish this was not SV's last season because if SV had an "S11" I'm nearly certain that SPN would get an S7 instead of being "iffy" due to going against Fringe again. Moving backwards, The CW’s "Post Holiday" week starting Monday 1/3/11, "Friday's" reruns soundly beat both in viewers and in adult demo Wednesday’s back to back Hellcats, Tuesday's OTH/LUX, and Monday's 90210/GosGirl. Edited 1/14/11 to add partial "Finals" data: Finals (partial – provided by “Douglas” at PIFeedback.com) Smallville 1.482M viewers 1.0/2 HH 0.6/2 A18-49 Supernatural 1.245M viewers 0.8/1 HH 0.5/2 A18/49 SV viewers dropped a little and retained adult demo and audience share; SPN stayed the same within rounding conventions, retained it’s adult demo and increased audience share from 1% to 2%. |

Rerun 01/14/11 01/14/11 SV Ep 10.xx 1.74M (A18-49; 0.7/.2/) SPN Ep 6.10 1.40M (A18-49; 0.6/2 ) SV performed very well beating everything this week but Tuesday’s Nikita repeat in total viewers and beat every CW show (reruns) in the adult demo. SV also had the highest rerun data of the Fall/Winter Hiatus in total viewers and adult demo. SPN’s total fast national viewers and adult demo (0.6/2) were the highest of every rerun since I started tracking the data (Thursday, 5/27/10) except Thursday 5/27/10 (after TVD) when SPN had 1.45M viewers and 0.1 lower in adult demo in both the “FNs” and Finals (0.5/2 demo). Next week (1/21/11) SPN's repeat of 6.11 (AIS) goes against a new episode of Fringe on its Friday debut. I know these things can't really be compared but the original airing of 6.10 had ~2.15M viewers (finals) and 6.11 had 2.27M - roughly 5% higher. It would be fantastic if SPN did 5% higher with this week's repeat. Fox has been promoting the hell out of Fringe's return this Friday. Finals Smallville - 1.725 million viewers - 1.1/2 HH - 0.7/2 A18-49 - 0.5/2 A18-34 - 0.6/2 W18-34 Supernatural - 1.427 million viewers - 0.9/2 HH - 0.6/2 A18-49 - 0.5/2 A18-34 - 0.4/2 W18-34 Yippee! “Travis Yanan” is back to provide full final ratings. Thanks, “Douglas” for providing “partial” Final ratings in TY’s absence. In Final Ratings, the rerun of SV and rerun of SPN’s 6.10 remained the winter hiatus’s best total ratings and SPN was second in terms of total viewers compared to total views vs the first summer repeat of 2010 (1.45M vs. ~1.43M) but beat it by 0.1 in the critical adult demo. Edited 1/19/11 |

Rerun 01/21/11 Supernatural rerun against Fringe’s first Friday new episode! 01/21/11 SV Ep 10.11 1.52M ( (A18-49; 0.6/.2/) SPN Ep 6.11 1.31M (A18-49; 0.5/2 ) Not surprisingly our new genre competition, Fringe after lots of promotion, (as of next week) got excellent figures for its Friday debut, 4.86M viewers and an incredible 1.9/6 in the adult demo. (The 1.9 demo figure hasn’t been hit since when at least two networks, CBS (CSI) and The CW (Nikita) were reruns. The same held true for this past Friday – CSI:NY and SPN were reruns; unfortunately CSI:NY will be a rerun next week, too – CSI’s are the stronger demo challenger) So in combination will a new episode of the “Kitchen Nightmares” reality show, which also got over 4.25M viewers and also a 1.9 in adults, Fox “won” the night in demo but was in fourth place in total viewers, which is kind of odd; normally the network with the highest demo for the evening is also #1 or 2 in total viewers. Well, all I can say is if last week’s episode represented a S6 winter hiatus high in viewers and in demo and the hiatus average is around 1.22 M viewers including Christmas and New Year’s Eve when Fringe didn’t air repeats (actually there have been no Fringe S3 repeats at all, just preemptions or back to back Bones repeats - is it any wonder Fringe fans craved this week’s new episode?) the prior Thursdays than we held above average figures and we were above average in demo – a half hour breakdown on TVbtn gave SPN 0.6/2 for the first half hour , matching last week’s demo– yah SPN – and 0.5/1 for the second half hour. So not too shabby for a rerun but the real test will be next Friday when CSI repeats again and Fringe and SPN are new. I would be shocked if Fringe held the 1.9 demo (or exceeded it – actually I am terrified it will and SPN will take a larger demo hit than we did in S5) and I equally expect SPN to be affected in viewers and in demo. I would be surprised but very pleased if SPN held on to its average of ~ 1.0 in the adult demo or dipped to no lower than 0.9. (Even if Mark Berman’s puts SPN in the “Loser” category – this season and in the past most of the CW shows with the exception of TVD have spent time in the “losers box” and still been renewed by The CW). GAHHH! I wish The CW would announce a renewal/not renewal decision soon so I can relax and just enjoy the rest of the season. Finals Smallville ® - 1.471 million viewers - 0.9/2 HH - 0.6/2 A18-49 - 0.5/2 A18-34 - 0.4/2 W18-34 Supernatural ® - 1.312 million viewers - 0.8/1 HH - 0.5/2 A18-49 - 0.5/2 A18-34 - 0.3/1 W18-34 SV dropped a little but both SV and SPN held their respective adult demos. I am a little troubled that SPN did so poorly in young women – SPN has frequently outperformed SV in this category. |

Reruns Wednesday 2/2/11 SV Ep 10.11 1.18 M (A18-49; 0.4/1) SV against AI, Live to Dance, Minute to Win it (NBC airing back to back eps) SPN Ep 6.11 1.02M (A18-49; 0.4/1) SPN against Human Target, second half hour vs. new Cougar Town, and Minute to Win it Finals Smallville - 1.110 million viewers - 0.8/1 HH - 0.4/1 A18-49 - 0.4/1 A18-34 - 0.5/1 W18-34 Supernatural - 0.997 million viewers - 0.6/1 HH - 0.4/1 A18-49 - 0.3/1 A18-34 - 0.4/1 W18-34 Both SV and SPN dropped in the finals unfortunately though SPN beat TVD's rerun last Wedneday in total viewers and O.1 in adults and young women. IMO both shows did reasonably well for the third airing in a few weeks and very little TV promotion. |

2/4/11 SV Ep 10.12 2.37M (A18-49; 1.0/3) SPN Ep 6.12 2.28M (A18-49; 1.0/3) I was scared to even look at the ratings but although the Fast National's viewers for SV were on the low side of the show's average it also faced all new competition. SPN did a little better than 6.11’s in total viewers – indeed it’s the best the show has performed in total viewers since 11/5/10’s 6.07 Family Matters and the show held the same demo (1.0/3) as AIS. SV and SPN tied in the demo. (SPN’s adult 18-49 first 11 episode average is 1.05). Both shows outperformed all other CW shows for this week (and most weeks actually) in adults 18-49 except TVD and the special wedding episode of OTH. SV also tied Nikita in total viewers and both SPN and SV had 1.0 in adults vs. 0.9 for Nikita. Although the CW's target demo in young adults 18-34 especially young women, neither SV nor SPN has ever performed very well in that category but for most network shows the adult demo performance is what's most important. I’m pleased for this first time against SPN's genre competition, Fringe, which lost 240,000 Nielson viewers vs the final results last week and 0.3 in demo falling to 1.6/5. Let’s hope we can keep our ratings up as much as possible and the shows don't drop much - particularly in demo - in the finals. Fringe faced all new competition for the first time since the show moved to Friday's too. Finals Smallville - 2.375 million viewers - 1.5/3 HH - 1.0/3 A18-49 - 0.9/3 A18-34 - 0.8/3 W18-34 Supernatural - 2.254 million viewers - 1.3/2 HH - 1.0/3 A18-49 - 1.1/4 A18-34 - 1.3/4 W18-34 -->highest since 11/5/10, 6.07 In the finals, SV improved by a hair and SPN dropped a little. Both shows held their adult demo. I am very pleased with SPN young adult and young women’s demo figures though. Not only did SPN outperform SV (I thought the “young demos” really liked Chloe ) in the young demos SPN improved 10% in young adults and 18% in young women over 6.11 and this SPN’s highest in young women since 6.07 when the show hit a season high of 1.4. Supernatural’s winter premiere figures should be something that The CW should issue a press report about but it’s unlikely that the show will get one. Edit 2/23/11 to add DVR results (Largest Demo increases only): Not as good as I hoped but still on the chart for both shows. SV and SPN were tied at #14 and #15 with 30% increases in adults 18-49 (from 1.0 to 1.3). IMO it was still good news for SPN because our W18-34 may have increased too. |

Sorry for the delay... I haven't been feeling well. The entire CW lineup - with the exception of SV - did pretty poorly last week and so far this Monday and Tuesday didn't do too well either. 2/11/11 SV Ep 10.13 2.33M (A18-49; 0.9/3 ) SPN Ep 6.13 1.96 M(A18-49; 0.9/3 ) To put this sucky SPN performance in perspective the whole CW lineup did very poorly this week with several shows hitting season or series lows with the exception of SV who did just ok for Fridays. In the finals SPN beat Nikita in total viewers and adult demo, tied SV and 90210 in “adults” and beat every show but TVD and SV in total viewers. . The whole Friday was dubbed a loser by Mark Berman of PIFeedback except for CSI: @ 9pm and it had 9.66M viewers and a measly adult demo of 1.5/5. Fringe hit a series low of 3.74M viewers (Final) and a 1.4/4 in adults. Finals Smallville - 2.338 million viewers - 1.4/2 HH - 0.9/3 A18-49 - 0.8/4 A18-34 - 0.6/2 W18-34 Supernatural - 1.974 million viewers - 1.1/2 HH - 0.9/3 A18-49 - 0.8/3 A18-34 - 0.8/3 W18-34 Edited 2/28/11 to add DVR results: For week ending 2/12/11 (includes eps SV 10.13/SPN 6.13) Largest 18-49 Demo Percentage Increase From DVR Viewing for Broadcast TV Shows: #4 Smallville gained 44% rising from 0.9 to 1.3 #19 Supernatural gained 33% rising from 0.9 to 1.2 *Sigh* I hoped for much better for SPN because Unforgiven was such a great Sam episode. After DVR results are added for the week ending 2/12/11 TVD remains #1 in A18-49, SV is #2 and SPN and GG are tied for third at 1.2 each. Not that “7 day DVR results” matter much except to make the fans feel better. |

2/18/11 SV Ep 10.14 2.22M avg ( A18-49; 0.0.95/3 avg) SPN Ep 6.14 2.26M avg (A18-49; 1.05/3.5 avg) In the Fast Nationals SPN edged out SV both in total viewers and in adults 18-49. (Of course this has a possibility of flipping in the finals). But the better news that even if SPN loses some viewers and a little demo in the Finals, SPN still averages 1.05 demo in the FN’s so the most the Show may tumble is to a solid 1.0, and with that demo the show is tied with SV for second place this week behind TVD. Most weeks this season it’s TVD/SV/SPN as the trifecta in the adults 18-49 demo. Plus in FN’s and likely Finals , both SV and SPN beat every other show (except TVD) in total viewers and adult demo for this week (Nikita’s Finals were 2.10M viewers, 0.8/2 A18-49). Finals Smallville - 2.217 million viewers - 1.3/2 HH - 1.0/3 A18-49 - 0.9/4 A18-34 - 0.6/3 W18-34 Supernatural - 2.248 million viewers - 1.2/2 HH - 1.0/3 A18-49 - 1.0/4 A18-34 - 1.0/4 W18-34 Both shows dropped a little in total viewers and in average adult demo SV gained 0.5 and SPN lost 0.5 but I think 1.0 in A18-49 is pretty good for Fridays. In young adults and young women, SPN has had better performance in YW but it’s still a 20% improvement in both W18-34 and A18-34 over last week’s figures. SPN beat Nikita in “everything” this week and is second to TVD in both total viewers and the A18-49 and A18-34 demos. Edit 3/10/11 to add DVR result: Only SV made it this week, at #25, with a 30% increase in Adult 18-49 (1.0 to 1.3). Chances are good that SPN was just below at #26-30 with a 20-25% increase. But this was the week where we beat SV in viewers and tied (Live +SD)'s Adult demo and beat SV in young adults and young women. |

drove down the final SPN finals but we did beat SV again in the W18-34 demo. But sub-2M viewers, not so good, particularly after the winter hiatus when we’re up against Fringe again. Hope we bounce back to > 2M viewers in 6.10 & 6.11; I have no idea if either or both episode will be affected by pre-emptions.
