This is just a test post to see if I can get the posted by thing to come back!

Thank you, Tammi !

I just wanted to tidy different "topics" up a bit and I was afraid that I screwed up (again  ) when I merged the rating threads.

Nikita and SPN reruns [finals] 6/2, 3 /2011

Nikita 1.02 1.01M (A18-49, 0.3/1)
SPN 6.02 1.25M (A18-49, 0.5/2)

Expanded Finals for Nikita from Travis Yanan’s blog:

6/2/2011
Nikita
- 1.012 million viewers
- 0.6/1 HH
- 0.3/1 A18-49
- 0.3/1 A18-34
- 0.4/1 W18-34

Travis Yanan seems to be back and is (hopefully) catching up providing full ratings including the young adult demos. I will update SPN 6.01 and 6.02 full finals as “he” adds them and also add the full finale (May 20) results if he adds data for that far back.

From my data SPN 6.02 has been aired once prior; 6.04 (original + 1 rerun) twice, 6.07-6.10 twice and 6.12 -6.15 twice, and 6.11 three times. This week my TV provider shows 6.03 then skips next week (6/17) to 6.05.

As with last year SPN (and Nikita) will not be able to rerun all 22 episode depending on what date Nikita/SPN premieres their new seasons; if it's similar to last year, SMV and SPN premiered on Sept 24, the corresponding 2011 date is Sept 23 and SPN will be able to rerun 17 episodes. I don't know about Nikita. If The CW wants to premiere TVD/TSC "two weeks" earlier, The CW may pair Nikita reruns with SPN for those "two weeks" and drop SMV from the schedule entirely.

(Although I'm not reporting specifically on SMV rerun results now, SPN 6.02 did soundly beat SMV's 10.2 in viewers and in adult (18-49) demo. )

Nikita, SPN rerun Finals 6/9, 10/2011

Nikita 1.03 0.90M (A18-49, 0.3/1) --> beat TVD for the second week in a row in total viewers, tied TVD in demo
SPN 6.03 0.93M (A18-49, 0.4/1) --> tied SMV in demo and did slightly higher in total viewers.

Travis Yanan hasn’t updated the young demos yet and neither the board owners at PIFeedback nor TVBTN have access to young demos on Friday shows generally.

SPN just edged out SMV in total viewers and tied the demo. SPN won The CW this week in total viewers and in demo (I’m just keeping track of scripted shows this summer)

Nikita, SPN rerun finals 6/16, 17/2011

Nikita 1.04 1.02M (A18-49, 0.3/1) --> beat TVD in total viewers for third week, TVD beat Nikita in demo, per usual
SPN 6.05* 0.88M (A18-49,0.4/1) * --> skipped over 6.04 as it reran on 4/8/11 when SMV reran their series Pilot

So weekly wrap-up, in total viewers it was Nikita leading – this is the first week that Nikita “won” total viewers for The CW this summer, followed by TVD (0.91M), SMV (0.90M and SPN (0.88M). But in terms of A18-49 demo, TVD and SPN "won" tied at 0.4/1 each. (As previously mentioned, I’m tracking only scripted shows)

Nikita, SPN rerun finals 6/23, 24/2011

Nikita 1.05 0.93M (A18-49, 0.3/1) - - > beat TVD in viewers, tied demo
SPN 6.06 1.05M ((A18-49, 0.4/2)

The CW was pre-empted in New York Friday (#1 TV market) so both SMV and SPN dropped in viewers and demo, but again for the week, SPN was The CW’s #1 rerun, followed by Nikita and SMV tied at 0.93M viewers and 0.3/1 in A18-49.

Nikita is holding up really well in reruns, frequently beating TVD in viewers or tying ithe adult demo. Either (Or) Nikita reruns hold original episode viewers' attention better than TVD or the show gains new Nielson viewers in reruns (Nielson viewers who watched something else live and may have DVR'd a second show other than Nikita). I watched the entire S2's TVD original episodes live or DVRed but to me the show has little replay value (in the several episodes I have watched reruns for I'm even more annoyed at the soapiness of the show).

Nikita, SPN rerun finals 6/30, 7/1/2011

Nikita 1.06 0.91M (A18-49, 0.3/1 ) - - > beat TVD in viewers, tied demo
SPN 6.07 0.91M ((A18-49, 0.3/1 ) - - > pre-empted in NYC again, plus start of July 4th “long weekend”

SMV “won” this week in total viewers at 0.99M and 0.3/1 in adults. 0.3/1 was the high in demo for this week in scripted shows; 90210, TVD, Nikita, and SPN also had 0.3/1 in A18-49.

BTW, The CW is re-airing “Part 1” of the 2 – hour SMV series finale this Friday, with “Part 2” airing next Friday, 7/15/2011 in case anyone wants to re-watch it or watch it for the first time.

Nikita, SPN rerun finals 7/7, 8/2011

Nikita 1.07 1.01M (A18-49, 0.4/1 ) - - > beat TVD in viewers, tied demo. Winner for this week in total viewers and a 3-way tie with SMV (#2 in viewers) and TVD (#3)
SPN 6.08 0.74M (A18-49, 0.3/1) #4 in viewers and in demo

I have some explanation for why SPN did “badly” this Friday; popular movie openings and Transformers 3 is still doing very well in it’s second full week. (Not to mention that 6.08 is one of several episodes on many fans “lesser favorites of S6 list – it is one of my least favorite of S6). If it makes any difference the episode gained 40,000 “Nielson” viewers in the finals.

One of the benefits to the 8 pm/ earlier time slot is the show gets an extra hour to be watched if the Nielson viewers “go out”. I have limited expectations for this Friday either (7/15/11) – the final Harry Potter movie comes out.

I had my first ever power outage before an SPN episode about 20 minutes before 6.08 came on and it lasted about 15 minutes after the episode ended. I assume it was a very local power outage – my local CW affiliate is “CWPhilly” which I believe is in the #7 US TV Market.

Just a reminder that Nikita will be moving to Fridays, July 22 and will be skipping from episode 1.08 (July 14 episode) to 1.15. I expect SPN will do something similar but I don’t know yet what episode will be aired on July 29.

Nikita, SPN rerun finals 7/14, 15/2011

Nikita 1.08 1.20M (A18-49,0.4/1) -- >, beat TVD in viewers and tied demo, Nikita skips to 1.15 this Friday
SPN 6.09 1.03M (A18-49, 0.4/1) -- > SPN skips to 6.16 ATTWN on 7/29/11

Looks like my fears of a "Harry Potter Effect" were groundless even though the movie revenue broke records for that day.

For the CW week ending 7/15, Nikita had the most viewers, followed by SPN and SMV. TVD, Nikita, and SPN were tied at 0.4 in A18-49.

I rechecked the calendar today and with Nikita re-airing episode 1.15 this Friday (7/22) and SPN skipping to 6.16 on 7/29/11, The CW will have time to air all remaining episodes with one week to “spare” before the season premieres of Nikita/SPN; my guess is The CW will use this week to encore the series premieres of TSC and Ringer. Last year SPN reruns stopped on 9/3/10 and on 9/10 The CW encored Nikita/Hellcats’s series premieres and again on 9/17 with the second episode of those shows.

Nikita, SPN rerun finals 7/22/2011

Nikita 1.15 0.96M (A18-49, 0.4/1 )
SPN 6.10 0.97M (A18-49, 0.4/1)

Supernatural was the #1 CW scripted show in total viewers for this week, followed by Nikita and TVD. There was also a 3-way tie among scripted shows at 0.4/1 in A18-49 between the same shows. Nikita performed very well for its first pairing with SPN. There were no scripted shows that cracked 1M in 18-49 this week.

This week (Friday, 7/22/11) marks the last week for episodes that had three reruns; next week the show will rerun episodes that have only aired once.

Nikita, SPN rerun finals 7/29/2011

Nikita 1.16 0.85 M (A18-49, 0.3/1 )
SPN 6.16 0.84M (A18-49, 0.3/1)

Both shows dropped significantly in viewers and demo Finals vs Fast Nationals because both were preempted in at least one major TV market but I don’t know where, but likely Chicago (#3 market) or NYC (#1) – according my records, every “summer” preemption so far has been in NYC for baseball.

For the week ending 7/29/11, for scripted shows the top rankings were #1 TVD with 1.03M viewers and a great 0.5/2 in A18-49, #2 Nikita with 0.85M and SPN with 0.84M both shows tied with 0.3/1 in demo.

Nikita, SPN rerun finals 8/5/2011

Nikita 1.17 0.82M (A18-49, 0.3/1)
SPN 6.17 0.89M (A18-49,0.3/1 )

Nikita fell a little and SPN rose slightly in the Finals vs the Fast Nationals and there were no demo increases unfortunately. For the CW week ending 8/5/11 in scripted shows, TVD was first place with the highest viewers (1.07M and demo (0.4/1); SPN in second and Nikita third (viewers and demo)

Nikita, SPN rerun finals 8/12/2011

Nikita 1.18 0.92M (A18-49, 0.3/1)
SPN 6.18 0.99M (A18-49, 0.4/1)

The CW once again had local preemptions for football on Friday. For the CW week (scripted shows) ending 8/12/11 SPN was the leader in viewers and demo, Nikita was second and TVD third (0.77M); Nikita and TVD tied in demo at 0.3/1.

Nikita, SPN rerun finals 8/19/2011

Nikita 1.19 0.90M (A18-49, 0.3/1)
SPN 6.19 0.99M (A18-49, 0.4/1)

Not too shabby for either Nikita or SPN the CW week ending 8/19/11. TVD was in first place in viewers just squeaking past SPN with 1.01M and tied with SPN in demo at 0.4/1 each. (SPN had the same results last week). Nikita was in third place with its figures. SPN rose a bit in finals (in viewers – held demo) and Nikita lost a little more significant (and troubling) viewers as well as 0.1 in demo.

Nikita, SPN rerun finals 8/26/2011

Nikita 1.20 0.97M (A18-49, 0.3/1)
SPN 6.20 0.99M (A18-49, 0.4 /1)

For The CW week ending 8/26/11 TVD was the ratings winner with 1.09M viewers, 0.5/2 in A18-49, SPN was second and Nikita third. This was the third week in a row for SPN @ 0.99M, 0,4/1 - so it could be worse but I'd like to crack the 1M viewer mark again in at least one of the two final reruns of the summer.

The SPN rerun faced off with the first Fringe repeat (I think) of the summer and Fringe had 1.22M viewers, and the same 0.4/1 demo as SPN.

Nikita, SPN rerun finals 9/2/2011

Nikita 1.21 1.01M (A18-49, 0.3/1)
SPN 6.21 0.82M (A18-49, 0.3 /1)

(Fringe also adjusted down to 1.49M, 0.5/2)

For The CW week ending 9/2/11, Nikita regained 1st place in viewers, SPN 2nd and Gossip Girl 3rd with 0.72M. TVD was 4th at a low 0.67M viewers (it was beaten by unscripted Plain Jane in viewers). All scripted shows had a maximum A18-49 of 0.3/1. The CW was preempted on both Thursday and Friday for football in some locales this week.
