Official CW Desciption: “Live Free or Twi-Hard” DEAN IS TURNED INTO A VAMPIRE — After a group of young girls go missing; Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean (Jensen Ackles) realize that a group of vampires have taken up residence in the small town. After a fight with two of the blood-suckers, Dean is bitten and turns into a vampire... Samuel (guest star Mitch Pileggi) tells Dean he can change him back but he’d have to get the blood of the vampire who turned him. Dean infiltrates the nest and runs into the Alpha. Jan Eliasburg directed the episode written by Brett Matthews Enjoy the episode and please rate and discussThis episode features another new writer and new director, so let’s wish them luck. This episode was switched in airing order with 6.06, so I hope some of 6.06 makes sense.

This episode kicked ass!!! Jared and Jensen knocked it out of the park! I'm jonesing to know what's going on with Sam. No way the Sam we've come to know and love would stand by and watch Dean be turned.
How do you know it was switched? |

Fix this, Sera, please or many fans will ditch the show!!! At least now Dean knows that there's definitely something wrong with Sam - "Silver Lining" <_< . I feel like giving this episode the lowest rating "just coz" but I'm going to re-watch and see if I find anything to admire about this episode. |

I agree, J2 were very good in this episode and that's why I said the silver lining was that Dean knows that Sam allowed him to be turned - but Sam doesn't Dean saw him out of the corner of his eye when he flashbacks ended. ETA: Because several spoiler sites said that the episodes had swapped order but either they were all wrong or 6.06 was quickly edited in small ways to followup on 6.05. ETA#2: Fortunately I'm something of a "Dark Sam" fan and "Dark Sam" always felt as if he was doing what he was doing for the greater good, and "hopefully" his using Dean for bait for the Alpha and all his questions about what Dean saw in the nest will lead somewhere, though I don't know exactly where yet. |

I ... just don't know what to say. I haven't voted yet, but I'm leaning toward salting and burning this one. |

I'm joining Irishgirl in her praise for this episode but I gave it a Pretty Good because the show is keeping Dean too lily white for a vampire and for almost too much Dean POV. I'll come back later and either edit this post or start a new post. I have lots of thoughts rolling around but a lack of time to type them out. |

It is hard for me to judge because originally I wasnt going to watch it but after downloading it I have only watched pieces of it.. I really do think they need to start getting what is going on with Sam out there otherwise they are in danger of rehashing season 4 with him .. |

Markie! Glad to have you back!!! ITA ~ But what's worse ... they are going to lose a lot more Sam fans! Maybe they don't care about us, but their ratings have suffered from our loss. |

That's what I'm afraid is going to happen. By the time they get around to explaining(hopefully not a half-a$$ed one like Season 4), its going to be too late. I've seen several good theories on why Sam acted that way. But I think the only one that would cast Sam in a good light, is if it isn't Sam at all. Split personality is another one folks have guessed that would work except for the fact that Dean would take that as his brother's real feelings about him coming out. Then we'd have to listen to Dean whining about it for the rest of the season.(if we're still watching by then. Personally, I'm planning on letting the DVR record the episodes and then waiting to hear what my friends think before I watch it. Can't handle anymore like Friday's episode.) |

ITA!!!! I can handle a reasonable excuse, hell, even a mental affliction because of being locked up with Luci in hell (a pissed off Luci at that ... along with Michael!) but ... no explanation is just bad form. Though I think the powers that be think that is acceptable if it involves Sam. |

I haven't watched it, I'm not going to watch it (for different reasons than you might think ) and so I can't rate it. I like the title, took me a few days to get the wordplay (seriously, I couldn't make sense of it and that was driving me ntus!) but that's probably cause I'm not a native speaker.I don't care what other people think about Sam after watching this, that's never been an issue for me, there must be a reason for how he's acting, I hope we're going to find out and I hope it's a really good one. I'm not sure if I'm still around when it is explained, atm I don't like the show, I don't hate it, I feel completely numb about it and somehow I don't care what's going to happen next. I'm not angry, I'm a lot SAD and I miss the reason I started to watch the show. Huh, that sounds an awful lot like "goodbye", doesn't it? Maybe it is, I have no idea. |

Mikiya, you are not alone. I was talking to my son last night and told him the reasons I started watching are all gone ... and it's sad. I started watching summer after Season 1 ... I actually found the show on Youtube (saw 1/4 of the finale and was like WOW, this is good, so I went looking for them in order.) and LOVED the premise of anti-girl drama. A show about family that had nothing to do with who was sleeping with who's girl. It was good. Not to mention the whole supernatural aspect, which appealed to me even more. Even in Season 4, when the show totally backpeddled, backtracked, and out and out lied about crap ... I still liked the show because the chemistry was there. Now it's just ... boring!!!! Something HUGE is missing, and I honestly think they are doing ALL fans a disservice by continuing like this. They either should have ended the show at S5, or started something new with S6, not the same old shit of what has Sam done now. I'm tired of it!!! The ONLY saving grace this season was an episode that was nearly devoid of its two main stars! Thank God for Bobby!!!!! |
