I think that one of the reasons the the CW waited to the last minute to announce that SN and SV was being pushed back a week was so that DVRs would record VD and Nikita giving them the DVR ratings. <_<

I agree and last week (1/28) my Comcast DVR recorded Nikita rather than LAV because "Comcast" and apparently countrywide still thought" LAV was scheduled. Fine. Deleted Nikita. Then on Sunday 1/30 my Comcast TV provider (and I imagine other TV providers) reset themselves and "recognized" that LAV was postponed until this Friday and Unforgiven (and then Mannequin 3) were also pushed back.

So I thought everything was fine and I always double check to make sure the show is listed in the "Scheduled Recordings" and sure enough both SMV (I only have it a single recording) and SPN LAV (series recording) were "scheduled". I was doing someting else while SMV recorded - so I made sure the recording light was on - but as I said I never even noticed that the red light was not on during SPN because it's never not recorded a new episode. I'm fortunate that SPN is the only program that I pretty much always watch live.

The problem folks were having was uniform - their various DVR providers didn't record the episode because they "thought" they had recorded it last week.

I wonder if some Nielson "systems" were affected by the CW's program glitch too. I'm also fortunate because I make VCR backups - that goodness my VCR didn't screw up . Sometimes older technology is the way to go :D .

Yeah, I didn't notice it wasn't recording until the episode was halfway over. What's upsetting about that is both my son and my husband missed it -- and now we don't have it recorded.

Yeah, I didn't notice it wasn't recording until the episode was halfway over.  What's upsetting about that is both my son and my husband missed it -- and now we don't have it recorded.

If you like to keep your recordings as I do I suggest you purchase the episode from either ITunes or Amazon VOD (aka Amazon Unbox). I know there's a way to watch the Amazon purchase right on your TV and I assume it's the same for ITunes. Personally I like Amazon better unless you have an IPod to move the episode to. Or your husband and son have to wait for The CW site to have it available or use one of the other sites fans have found to watch the episode on.

I talked to a Comcast CSR this morning and he sent a "signal" to "refresh" my DVR but I don't entirely trust that the situation is corrected - because there's no indicator on the DVR to tell that it has been "refreshed" - and this wasn't just a Comcast DVR problem. I don't want this happening to every subsequent episode because of the mess The CW created by giving vitually no notice to the TV stations. This Friday I'm going to watch my DVR like a hawk to see if the DVR comes on and if it does great and if it doesn't I'll manually record it and then do something to fix the series recording if I can.
