Why a Introduction forum?

I don't see the point with the introduction forum, it doesn't invite to any kind of discussion, but it's merely a chance too greet the new members which after a while becomes really trivial and after a while you stop reading them imo. I don't think thses introductions are that important, and they don't give a picture of the person, you first make a picture of them while having discussed with them on the different threads.

The purpose of the Introduction forum isn't to create a discussion and give you background on the person that's creating an intro. It's more for the thread creator than the person reading the thread basically. We have introductions like most other sites so that people can make their first post and see all of the other members and get a feel of how many people are in the clan and how active we are.

That's your sole opinion Spit... We don't intend to remove the introductions section of the forum. There's a good majority of posts, and when people welcome newcomers it makes them feel welcome and want to be active. Also, when I post a welcome message, it DOES give people a feel of how the site works because I give them information on where to go for tournaments and matches, where to look for video footage, where you can chat, etc... I think the introductions section is a very effective way to get new members active and understand how the site works :)

I aggree with you that they get to know they site, but you could also make a thread with that kind of information !! ... And the welcome you give them isn't that just automatic ? :P .. It's not like it's a "warm" welcome ... And I don't hope I have offended anyone ! and sorry if that's the case ;) just wandering about the introduction forum :P
