 Hey, I was just wondering wether or not Scorpio or DarkSoft were legitimate businesses/companies.

I somehow deleted the bookmark for this site and MNII was being buggy so I couldn't access my Owls. I was googling DarkStar Studios and Shadowed Revolutions with every possible google hack I knew to find this forum. (SR doesn't exist on Google, by the way.) During my escapades I saw another DarkStar Studios. On had the TLD darkstar.com, the other dark-star.com.

Basically you need to be careful because you can't operate under the same business name as someone else in the same catagory of business. Further more, in the US, you cannot opperate under a ficticious name unless you register it with the government which rewuires you to fill out a Ficticious Name Registration Form. It costs $70 in check or money order form made payable to the Department of State. You can however use your surname as part of your business name which saves you $70. (i.e. Scherer Programming)

In order to be a recognized buisiness in the US, and be able to charge sales tax, which is required on all tangible products, on this product when we try to sell it, you have to fill out an Enterprise Registration form. In PA, where my company is registered, it is the PA 100 form. Excluding the instructions, it is 17 pages long, including the instructions it is 26.

If you and the other DarkStar Studios are not the same, you need to change your name, probably to something with your surname (lastname) as the first word.

I hope this was helpful. I can't wait to begin working on this project. SL will have to get me waaaay caught up.

 Oh, and the other site was in Dutch (Hoellanereich) or Sweedish, or Finnish perhaps? So I think there is another Place using that name, and they can file a complaint withing the US even if they are an outside enterprise due to international trade aggreements, trademark, treaties and what-not.

 I don't plan to incorporate ScorpioSoft until we have something done, since I'm sort of working for like 4 different companies now, my own is at least priority. No, Darkstar is NOT incorporated that I know of, and so my top priority is the one that will be incorporated soon. They have the most power over Cyclone's development.
