If you are going to change the name of DGS, make sure that you are choosing something you can really live with for the next 20 years! You dont want to look back 5 years from now, or even 5 months from now and decide your name isnt right, or doesn't promote the right image for your company. What sounds "real cool" at 15 or 17 might not sound so cool when you're 25 or a 35 year old exec!
 Once you choose the name, be prepared to stick with it no matter what; if you change names too many times you will lose credibility and you will never gain brand recognition! Just my opinion on the new name itself, ShadeNova is interesting, but it's so similar to Darkstar it's almost pointless to change. Why not go with somthing completely new? After all, a star only goes dark or nova during the end of its life. You guys are at the beginning of your journey, why not choose something that is more symbollic of your new beginning? Also, the Interactive part is awful, ShadeNova Gaming would be better. Most often (not always) software companies that use Interactive are educational software companies. You dont want to lose gamer appeal!  Just my two cents, I'm not on the team so take it for what it's worth! |

for once my friend, i can truthfully say i made that in paint.net but i used Unfreez to animate it - so really thats 36 paint.net images. heh |

*tear* Wraithin has become me! How did this happen! Lol. He is sooooooooo right. Oh, and as a side-note: I realize that what happened before is history, and those involved have owned up to it. But I hate, emphasis on hate, plagarisem(sp?). If it were to happen again, you will lose a programmer and I will see that the owner/holder of the copyright is notified and linked to the breach. I have had software stolen from me that I was developing. It was a Java chat room system. They used it as a base for their first system and are now a leading free chat site. It sucks to have your hard work stolen. If we were to finish our engine and someone were to take it and call it their own, how would you feel? |

Make that two. I almost left when I caught him... but now that he's changed I'm staying. But know this: if it ever happens again you will be likely to lose your entire team AND get sued. On a happier note: that sphere thing: does PDN have a 'spherify' or 'sphere wrap' function? If you say no I will not believe you :lol: because that looks like you made one logo then automated it. If you truly made all the frames by hand, the text would look different, but that really looks like it was generated by a sphere wrap... And I agree with Wraithin and EP, ShadeNova sounds cool but it doesn't really sound new or innovative. Maybe something that's NOT dark or exploding? Hmmm... we should hold a name decision conference sometime :lol: |

No, I am in fact someone else. And haven't even met elite prodigy in any formal sense.  As I said before, I'm a fan of interesting projects. Normally, just a lurker, but in the case of Darkstar Gaming, it seemed like perhaps an impartial voice of reason might be of some use, so I decided to speak up. It's not by chance that elite_prodigy and I have similar observations, we both seem to be seekers of truth, are not easily mislead, and are candid in sharing our opinions.
