Think it's household but its based on basic salary and nothing else, it doesn't go on things like bonuses etc.
Apparently it's taking about 12 weeks for claims to be assessed hun, so don't expect a fast decision. You can apply online too you know

Thanks xx

You can't apply online if you've never applied before - at least thats what the schpeel at the homepage says.

Great news Mandy. I can't find anywhere on the site though how you qualify. What is the upper rate for earnings? Anyone know?

I applied for the first time online. It took quite a while but we eventually
we got a cheque to cover a holiday and garden play equipment, also we got
a large chest freezer GBG

We were amazed but supposedly you always get the most the 1st time around

So give it a try & good luck

It would appear that we are eligible!

As Lee changed job, and his wages went down, we are now under the threshold.

So, now I have to decide what I want I guess. We want to redecorate James' bedroom, so I guess some sensory toys would be a good idea. Poor kid doesn't have many toys as he always breaks them <_<

Is there a knack to filling out the form? Should I just copy info from my DLA form? It doesn't seem to give much room to put the information in. :help:

Got home today to find a letter asking me loads of info about benefits and stuff. I spend more time filling our forms at the moment that I don't seem to get time for much else.

I was lucky. Just before christmas i received a lovely cheque from them to pay for new carpet for the boys room, costs for running around in the car (bought new tyre!!! and service), and some towards a cost of a caravan holiday in England. It was the first sign of light at the end of the tunnel - and just before christmas. They called me to discuss my application, and the social worker/Child protection lady from the school had written a lovely letter to accompany it too. They were lovely.
