it's amazing how so many of the times we feel ill or upset can be acreditted to stress. The list of symptoms is huge. I think it's important to acknowledge that you are suffering from stress if you are ever going to start helping yourself fight it

I sometimes wonder if we'd be completely different people without the stress that we carry around with us. I often tell people it's my middle name :D

Not sure if my body could function properly in calm mode...lol
A decent nights sleep more often would be nice though.

And without The Hoobs. I wake up every morning to The Hoobs, closely followed by Noddy.

I think the reason I can't sleep is that constant need to be semi alert in case one of them decides to wander or wet the bed or something else.

No problem Sarah. You know I really understand what Margaret was talking about when she said she felt that there wasn't any time left for her. I feel like that sometimes although not as much as I did when the boys weren't settled in school. It's amazing how far we let ourselves go sometimes isn't it. I think that sometimes we forget that we need to look after ourselves in order to be there for the kids.

New member...Be nice!
I have a little verse that I carry about with me in my handbag. Sometimes, as you all know, life throws a bummer your way!!! I find this just lightens the load and I would like to share it with you all

THE BLESSING IN "NO"

I asked God to take away my pride. God said "No". It is not for me to take away, but for you to give up.

I asked God to make my handicapped child whole. God said "No". His spirit was whole, his body is only temporary.

I asked God to grant me patience. God said "No". Patience is a by-product of tribulations; it isn't granted it is earned.

I asked God to give me happiness. God said "No". I give you blessings, happiness is up to you.

I asked God to spare me pain. God said "No". Suffering draws you apart from worldly cares and brings you closer to me.

I asked God to make my spirit grow. God said "No". You must grow on your own, but I will prune you to make you fruitful.

I asked for all things that I might enjoy life. God said "No". I will give you life so that you may enjoy all things.

I asked God to help me LOVE all others, as much as he loves me. God said......Ahhhhh, finally you have the idea.

Hope it helps someone :)

That's lovely.

The bit about patience really struck a chord with me. When I think back 7 years to before James was born, I really think my patience has grown beyond all recognition! ;)
