I was reading an article in todays Sun that really made my blood boil. It was about Britney Spears and the fact that, according to the paper, she has gained too much weight. They used phrases like 'tum bathing' and described her as really needing to diet. There was a picture of her sunbathing on the beach and she looked really happy. The fat in question was a tiny little roll under her bust, but seeing as she was hunched up I would expect to see that anyway. It makes me so cross that the media choose to highlight things like this in such a negative way. What sort of lesson is that teaching our kids? In my opinion it was a lovely picture of Britney and she looked natuarally beautiful and healthier than shes looked in ages. |

I saw this too, it makes me laugh how on the one hand they are praising Jamie Oliver for trying to encourage our kids to eat more healthily and then insulting a young woman who looks fine. Talk about mixed messages, no wonder kids are so screwed up! |

James is going back to packed lunches. It's the best way for me to monitor what he's eating and it means he doesn't have to go to the dining hall to get his dinner as the place drives him mad. |

Our school can't seem to cater for our James anyway, so I have to send him with packed lunches or he'd starve, poor kid. |

i saw renee zelwegger(spelt wrong!) on tele being interviewed and she lookes so thin and ill but i think a healthy looking woman like britney looks so much better,it must be lovely being famous but if you put on one bit of weight its all over the papers,in the sunday mags they point out the cellulite with an arrow!!that must be awful,my katie is only two but i hope when she gets older i hope she doesnt feel pressured to be slim, she prob will tho with newspaper stories like this. |
