Hi thought this might make a few mums go ouch :P Brazil's Biggest Baby January 28 2005 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Brazilian woman gives birth to a 17-pounder Spare a thought, if you will, for a woman in Brazil who has just given birth to a simply enormous child. Francisca Ramos dos Santos' fifth child Ademilton weighed in at a massive 17lb (8kg) when he was born at a hospital in Salvador last week. It's worth adding, of course, that this was by Caesarean section! The hospital's paediatrician said that Ademilton 'could truly be considered a giant baby, for he was born weighing what a six-month-old-baby normally weighs'. Mrs Santos, 38 declared herself more than a bit surprised by 'little' Ademilton's weight, particularly as her four other children were all of normal birth weight. Happily both mother and baby are doing just fine, according to a spokesperson at the hospital. Wow she must have really looked huge... the poor woman |

I wonder if she was suffering from diabetes. That makes the baby grow too fast. They obviously don't have the anti natal checks we get here. Ouch indeed. |
