Did you have a nick name at school? Did you like it or did it drive you mad? Do you have a nickname now? |

When I was a girl of around 10 we did a science project at school about space. I was chattering at the back of the class, as I usually did, and the teacher who was showing the class a map of space pointed to me and said that I had a mouth the size of a black hole. That nickname ' Black Hole' followed me all through school and the boys in the class called me it constantly. I hated it and I used to cry in my room at night because it made me feel bad. :( Mark (Hubby) calls me his little spring onion...Don't ask me why Sarah calls me cowbag, but only cos that's what I call her  Think that's all I had. |

Hubby gave me the nickname 'shortcake' quite by accident. When we first met he used to call me short ass on account of me being only 5 foot tall but he was too polite to call me that in front of my parents so changed it to shortcake. |

It's terrible how nasty names can stick. James gets constantly called Harry Potter (He dies look very like him) but it really annoys him at times. |

You know, I was thinking today, (yeah yeah, I know! I have steam coming out of my ears!)
 The one thing I hated, more than carrot top, was Sammy. I don't know why, but it always sounds really condescending. I don't mind Sam, but Sammy.........yeuch! :shame: |

You should try living in Nottingham where the letter y at the end of a word just doesn't exist. I was forever known as Mand-eh My maiden name was Kelly or Nottingham style... Kell-eh and then of course I married a Haxby or should that me Haxb-eh! And you knmow what makes it worse.....If they don't know your name here they call you duck
