 I just have! I've asked him about how they went about setting it up. Just had a chat with Lee, and he reckons that if Beavers takes off, we can hand over the reigns in about 12 months, and set a special needs Scoutlink up instead. I'm getting really excited about this. It's just what our area needs. We are taking girls in Jan in this area, so oit would be perfect for both sexes. |

OK, first meeting over. It was a huge success. I was a bit worried to begin with. One child never made it into the building as his mother literally threw him back into the car!!! Another child left becasue mum wouldn't leave him. He was a bit shy, but I'm sure he'd have been fine if she left. Another child didn't like any attention and was rather nervous of the games, but he agreed to come again when Lee told him we were going to build volcanoes and hot air balloons! Anyway, all the other kids thoroughly enjoyed it. James didn't cope very well with the noise, but Akela did say that she has 3 cubs who behave much worse than James, and they have no excuse. :P Anyway, I am now sat here planning a halloween party. Apparently we have to ask permission from the parents with it being a pagan festival, but I thought we could do it as a few games, bit of food, and then cut it short with some investitures. All excited now. Loads of plans. Straight onto badges next week.

The lady who helps us has been named Brown Bear. She was helping at school on Monday, and went into James' class to find out where to her coat. James pipes up with, "Look, it's Brown Bear". The rest of the class were very confused.
