got my MIL sleeping tonight and im pleased to say shes lovely,my last one was hell, she hated me from the start because she thought the estate i came from was too rough pokey the weird thing was she was brought up on an estate much worse than mine  i really do not know how i put up with her for 10 years, when steve was 3 he took a couple of tabs by mistake so we took him to the hospital, she turned up at hospital, steves dad had left me for another woman 4 weeks before, she took great delight in telling me her son had never been so well fed and his new woman ran him a hot bath every night, this was while steve was being examined  so my new mother in law is fab, what about yours?
mum to steven AS aged 12 / daughter aged 2

i have trouble coping so ignore me while i have a moan!!

My mother in law from my marriage, was a real nutter. She was very funny, adored me (?) but thought the sun shone out of her son's arsehole!! Sadly she passed away 10 months after we married and my father in law passed away 5 months after we got hitched!!

My partners mother now is well, erm, killin me with kindness!! She is great as she would do anything for me if i would let her, loves my kids and Adam as if they are her own granchildren, but doesn't stop bloody talking. She is very old fashioned with a heart of gold. Am sure she just has to talk about something cos she loves the sound of her own voice!!!!!

Don't mean to sound mean, but because she does everything for her 46 year old daughter, she tries to do it for me too. I can't even speak to her sometimes cos she just keeps pushing. I know she means well, but please GIVE US SOME SPACE!!!

My husband has a mother and a step mother. His mother we haven't seen since the day we got married. Her and her daughter (from an affair)came 180 miles to the wedding purely to cause trouble. We did so much for that woman, and she threw it back in our faces. She is lazy as hell, is about 5 ft nothing and weighs about 25 stone, claims every benefit going and lives the life of bloody luxury. She is quite capable of working, but by her own admission, can't be bothered.

My step mother in law on the other hand is great. When I started seeing Lee, she didn't want me to go round until we'd been seeing each other for 2 months as Lee's ex girlfriends would turn up on her doorstep crying, and she was sick of it, but as soon as we met, we got on really well. When we lived near them, she would have Amy while I worked, and when I finished work, I'd have her 2 youngest while she went to work. (We were both nurses working shifts at the time). It worked really well. I feel like I could tell her anything. Lee calls his step mum his real mum as she brought him up from the age of 4.

As for my father in law, everyone is scared of him but me. No one can understand how I get away with being so cheeky to him! They all get a slap if they try it!
