Sat in The Maze yesterday and a good friend of mine mentioned that with her being a diabetic, were she to travel abroad she'd need a letter from the doctor to take her needles on the plane, this got me thinking about James's Ritalin and whether there might be a problem with me carrying that.

I popped into the travel agent who thought there wouldn't be a problem as the airline were already aware that the boys have autism. They thought it would just be a case of letting them know about it.

Apparently not.

We got a call from them to say we will need a letter from the doctor to say that the tablets are for James and for his personal use also they had to phone the British Embassy and notify them that we were bringing such meds into Menorca with us. Apparently they will issue us with a certificate.

What a hassle, mind it's a good job we checked. Just chasing docs at the moment but I thought it best to post this here as it is a problem some of you might have too.

So glad I checked, I have this image of us being attacked by sniffer dogs at the airport, what a start that would be.

I was told by Virgin that I needed a letter from the American Embassy to take James' Gluten free items into the USA. I gave up, and spread the items between 3 of the cases, figuring that I would at least have 2 lots when I got there if they searched a bag.

I really does create a load of hassle.
