Amy was asked yesterday to tidy her bedroom after I nearly fell face first across her room. I couldn't even see the floor for the amount of clothes.

After procrastinating a lot, she asked me if she could clean 3 different rooms towards her Guide badge. I agreed, but stated that if her bedroom wasn't done, we wouldn't be going to the cinema.

At 1.45pm, I was ready to go, but one look at Amy's room told me she hadn't even set foot in there. My refusal to take them meant that JAmes went into a full blown tantrum - after all, it wasn't his fault we were not going.

AMy said that if we could go later, she would start her room. I agreed. She then packed everything off the floor into a black bin liner and a couple of carrier bags. I took them to the cinema on the understanding that if she didn't finish her room today, the black bag will go in the dustbin!

Today, she still has not been in her room (oh, and she didn't do the 3 rooms she talked about either!). She has now decided to do some washing, hang some clothes out to dry, and she is currently ironing.

I'm not quite sure where she's coming from on this one - is she thinking that if she does other things, I will forget about her room?

That didn't take me long to find out! She's just asked me how much pocket money she's earned!

Oh, and she's burned my suit trousers for work

What is it with kids and bedrooms? Karl got a few days off work last week and decided to tidy Roxannes bedroom after constantly asking her to do it. It took him all day and he got (are you ready for this) fifteen bin bags of stuff to chuck out! Mind you he had been warning her he would do it for weeks if she didn't.

He was so disgusted that he's banned her from her room for anything other then sleeping and getting dressed for a month.

At least Amy did some other jobs so at it shows she's willing. BRAVO

Yeah, willing to earn some pocket money, the mercenary little monkey

I also have an ultra large bin bag to throw out tomorrow! Mainly full of clothes. She's going to be wearing her tatty jeans for quite some time!

When I cleared my eldests daughters room with a bin bag she had to earn the items back - there was quite a few and it took her a while.

You should see my daughters room. I swear if she rolled on the floor she could put on a full face of make up in seconds

Our eldest daughter is also a 'slob'. She knows that I will surcome to the mess eventually and clear it up!. I have tried just closing the door and trying to forget it but I can't. Her floor is strewn with clothes, make up and malting hair. YUK! CZY
